Razor: 6/8 Clauss
Hones: 50 felt / 100 Horsehide / 100 chestnut cowhide
Brush: 24mm Silvertip
Uber: Old Spice Original Shaving Soap in Old Spice Mug
AS: Alum Block + Old Spice Original
Edc: Old Spice Cologne
Result: The shave wasn't so great today, I think I managed to roll the edge stropping last shave. I used it 2 days ago and it was wonderful. I thought maybe the lather was at fault, but no. I must have done something to it stropping, that's all I can think of. I finished up my last 2 passes with my Mandarin 4/8 and it was blazingly smooth and keen and the lather was wonderful. 3 passes and DFS. I'm taking the Clauss back to the hones as soon as I finish posting. I'm sure glad I have learned more about honing, because I love this razor. Classic Old SPice is a wonderful change, going back in time to a period when I had one AS and One EdT.

Now that's a combination I didn't expect, Mark....Alt-Innsbruck followed by Pen's BB EdT!! I find the Alt-Innsbruck scent is long lived and interferes with an additional EdT

I have it in Best, and I am really liking it actually. It is quite big, but I am liking the scrubbiness of it.

"Macfix Grosvenor" | Merkur HD w/ Red IP (2) | Proraso Crema Pre E Dopo Barba | SL: Omega SS & JM Frasers | Nivea Replenishing Post Shave Balm


The lather today was quite excellent and the combo of scents made it a replenishing shave. The only downside was that this RedIP blade might be a dud. After two passes and few touch ups, it felt like i had razor burn. Or it could be the combination for my superlater. Then again JM Frasers is slowly turning out to be like my I Coloniali's SS where shaves are becoming inconsistent w/ results that are one day BBS & DFS on another. Well I hope you all have a great day!


PS - How are Nancy Boy Shaving Creams, is it worth getting or should I wait for Proraso's Sandalo SC?

There are far too many excellent soaps and creams out there, Balaji, to risk a poor shave. A magnificent close-up!

In general, scents don't last too long on me. I did go lighter on the BB ,but I actually like this combo a lot. At least no one asked me what kind of aftershave I was wearing today! That's when I know I used too much!
