I've been playing with the idea of buying a brand new straight because I don't own one. I know, there are countless good brands out there that I can buy and there might be some better than Dovo but the Bismarck is tempting me because I can get it in 6/8, thumb notch and shoulderless...
I could get one but I'm looking at pictures and cannot imagine how a modern Bismarck will hone. I mean, if the hone will eat the nice gold finish, there might be no point for me to buy a Bismarck as I want it to look nice. Or at least, I would like to see what a modern Bismarck looks like when honed? Do I need to tape the spine every time I hone? I don't tape any of my straights and I don't want to have any exceptions... I might end up buying something different in the end...
So please, post your pictures of honed Bismarcks! Just to be sure, I borrowed the picture from Amazon so we all know which model I'm talking about.
