Young and on a Budget...pick just one?

Bath & Bodyworks and Crabtreee & Evenlyn both make highly regarded men's splashes and colognes, that are not only pretty cheap by frequently go on sale. My first colognes were all from B&BW, used them for years without complaint.

Kudos to the OP, by the way. Too many 20-year olds just buy L'eau d'Issey or Drakkar and drown themselves in it. At that concentration, who knows if it's good or not, it just overwhelms and then deadens the nostrils. Find something that both you and your g/f like, and apply it sparingly.

Nice, that list is a great start. It's funny that you mentioned the TOBS colognes, because last night I bought a TOBS cream sampler from shavingessentials.net and will have the opportunity to try all the scents. It includes all 11 creams so I'll be able to try to ones that are also available in a cologne (I'm assuming they'd smell about the same?). I should hopefully have them by Friday, I'll be sure to let you know what I think.

The Casswell and Massey Number 6 sounds interesting... if it's good enough for GW, it ought to be good enough for me! I'm still looking around online for a place to pick up some samples, I'd just hate to blow $30 or so on a few different samples and end up with none I'm crazy about.

I think that's what deterred me from wearing cologne for so long. So many guys my age walk around in a constant cloud of cheap smelling junk, it smells like they filled a bathtub with it and splashed around for a bit.

Like the OP, I want something unique with the cookie cutter cologne-y smell popular with most guys our age.(if that makes sense).

I agree with you as well Browns, and you too Gone-Down-South (great name by the way). Browns, that would be great if you post your thought on the cream samples.

Casswell & Massey has a sampler for $20 of 5 frags (Newport, Number Six, Tricorn, Jockey Club and Greenbriar). You can get it for $16 here (Barclay Crocker always has their C&M for 20% off). I'm not too fond of Newport, but the rest are very nice and are not overly "complex" scents.

Thanks, I picked it when I was signing up for BBS <mumble mumble muble> years ago when I had just moved from Montreal to Virginia. I'm basically a 3rd grader at heart

Ok, I've got to ask. Are you a Jason Werth fan, or just a Phillies fan or what?

BTW, I met him when he was with the Blue Jays, nice guy

All of the above! I put him as my avatar one day when he stole second base. Then stole 3rd. Then straight up suicide stole home plate. Regularly throws baserunners out at first all the way from right field. Amazing ball player, one of the best fielders in the game, and apparently a real gentleman too. No ego at all.

That was my limited experience with him as well
