WitchHazel-Hype

I use generic witch hazel after almost every shave it's great. It's also easily available in the UK. Sainsbury's (large supermarket chain) do it for one, boots (large pharmacy chain) do it and I think I bought a bottle at Tesco's once but it may have been some other supermarket (memory a bit dodgy). Anyway - it's certainly not hard to obtain in this part of Europe.
 
Typical witchhazel forumlations do not contain menthol. Therefore I am hard pressed to consider it an aftershave. I prefer to use alum as an astringent, followed by an alcohol/menthol splash to cool things down. Yes, it those two products can dry the skin but I find that balms and lotions are better absorbed.
