That's insane! Was that in your town, the North Pole?

I love winter! Ice Hockey! Skating outside! Wearing awesome heavy coats! Scarves! Hot chocolate! Snow! Shoveling snow! Snowball fights! Complaining about snow! Driving my AWD car in the snow! Not having to do things on the weekends except stay inside and read or play games because of the snow!

I love being here near St. Louis. North enough to get a few snowfalls a winter, but South enough that even a few inches makes people nuts! I love doing anything in the snow and I love to hear people complaining about the snow just because I love it so much. Yeah I still have to drive to work in it, but I have the Subaru and no one cares that you come in late because everyone comes in late on the snow day. Plus, if it's bad enough, they let us go home early. Plus I live remote enough to where you don't get consistent snow plowing. Hence, if it's really bad I always get to use the "I can't get out of my driveway" excuse.

I like the cold temps (actually not too cold here), but I hate what happens to my sinuses, which are bad enough anyhow, and I hate what it does to my gas bill. I prefer Fall.

That Fred Meyer sign was off anyway. If was always a couple of degrees too cold. It only got to around minus 55. Right now we are hovering at a nice minus 20. I can't wait to go skiing this weekend, best thing about winter.

Nope, that's in town, Fairbanks. North Pole would have candy cane light poles...not kidding

They are all different, hard to be reliable when it's that cold. Good to see someone else in AK, can't believe were both in North Pole. Have you found anywhere in town that sells any DE products?

Where do you ski by the way?

How big is North Pole?

There is a place down in Anchorage that sells Col. Conk soap and Merkur razors. Other than that I have been buying my stuff on-line.

I ski at Skiland. It is out past Fox. It's no Colorado resort but it gets the job done.

I voted "Meh, winter"

I love winter until January 1st, but after that I am ready for spring.

My yay turns to boo after the holidays.

I can't decide how to vote- I loved winter when I lived further North on the Great Lakes, but here in South central Indiana its like four months of mid November; gray, bare, dead ground, and naked trees. I used to ski in the snow, go tobogganing. I thought it was fun to drive in. OK that last bit is a bit crazy but still...it was pretty look at. There is only so much you can do with mostly frozen mud.
