a simple estate pipe ,or grabow is fine , but curious, if one tried twice before and did not like, why the urge to start smoking - for me i love wood and anything wood so pipes just amaze me , so i just decided to smoke them every now and then, do i really love the taste of tobacco , not really, but I like the smoke and the way it all works with the wood------

Thanks for the advice. Trust me, it is not a sudden urge. I am trying to fight the urge. I am trying my hardest to not start smoking cigarettes again. Thinking about the pipe has helped me put off cigarettes, I haven't even bought the pipe yet, but the thought is helping.
If I could get away from cigarettes without even buying a pipe, that would be great. But I have always liked pipes, and still do smoke the occasional cigar, though I know nothing about them, but do enjoy them.
I know the feeling. I gave up 2 packs of Luckys a day in the early to mid 70's and still miss it. I think I was paying $2.50 a carton when I quit. Tried a pipe a couple of weeks ago, probably more out of boredom than anything else, and find that I enjoy it. Still I'm trying to limit it to every other day.
well my friend, if you have a hard time with Cigs, the pipe may help you out --I would definitely trade or quit the Cigs, they taste like crud , stink, and no one likes the smell, especially on their clothes, - as far as pipes, many haters of smokers have made pleasing comments of the pipe and its smells, SOOOOOOOOOOOOO, i would say continue on your path, with speed, those Cigs are crap my wife smokes Marlboro 100s

I came home to a box in the mail today from Shave Rat, I attacked it like a little kid on Christmas.

So at his recommendation, I loaded up some Carter Hall in the MM Cob and had at it.
Once I was able to get it to stay lit, I made sure to relax, and not rush it. The smoke was great, very relaxing and I enjoyed it very much.
Good thing the new LE Pipe does not close until the 25th! I may have to sell some pens to get in on the pipe!

there is some sweet estates moving around on the bay, and new ones, i got a brand new savinelli CW for 53.00-------in the box, i almost lost my marshmellows
i did some Carter hill last night , very mild, i am going to use it as a blender too-----

i love calligraphy ., believe me i only wish i could pull this off, i love bible scripture and make wood plaques with lacquer , i only wish i could write it , i use computer fonts-----but i have no talent whatsoever ,my wife oh my goodness , she can freehand calligraphy
If you can, please get her to show us her skills. The Calligraphy thread is pretty big and we like to see other peoples work, so we can learn. Or at least I do.
