Will mixing water with Barbasol shaving foam work?

Soap causes pretty intense aftershave sting for me. I really want to use soaps to be more traditional and environmental, but it’s not meant to be. Canned foam leads to no problems.

I regularly lather Barbasol foam in my shave bowl--I put in a generous amount, trickle warm water in from my palm till the amount is just right, then whip it in the shave bowl almost like you're whipping homemade whipped topping. I do it with the shave brush, it whips up into a nice thick lather and it performs very well.
