WhiskerLess DE Shaving Journey

@walpan turned me onto Dorco Primes. After reading through the work of @helicopter I see that the Dorco’s are a bit controversial, and maybe it was a fluke but I had 2 or 3 shaves with them in the Athena and Blutt which outshined my beloved Wilkinson Germanys. I picked up 200 so I guess I’ll find out if they hold up.
Good luck. I have never tried a Dorco blade, but I did read @helicopter 's evaluation and had heard that the Primes were mild

@WhiskerLess , were you banned from here by loved ones after your last amassing of shave treasure?

Actually gents, I’m not usually into disclosing family matters but I guess my B&B friends would be an exemption.

My only sister succumbed to her breast cancer and I immediately flew back to attend her last rights and interment. Hence, why I wasn’t posting anything lately. It’s really sad considering that she passed away few weeks before Christmas.

So sorry to hear that, Derick. You and your family will be in our prayers.

Sorry for your loss.

On the topic for which you summoned me, Dorco blades have had quite a bit of variance in testing. There is some question about the older Korean one, which I don't think I have tested.

The new Vietnamese one is supposed to be the better one. The new ones seem to come in two blade specifications, a normal one and a premium one with an extra layer of PTFE coating. All of the other differences are in the packaging.

The batch variation is enough that I wouldn't normally recommend them, but in the case of Dorco, due to low price, I say go ahead and get them. Think of it like a scratch off with reasonably good payouts. The odds of getting a very good blade are good enough for the gamble in my opinion.

I have gone through several different tucks and all the results are the same, stellar.
