When You Try to Explain Vintage Razors to a Normal Person... and Fail

AnimalCatcher

Thinking of Ricardo Montalban
When asked why you needed more than one razor, you should have responded with, "Like your father, I would also like to own more than one razor, for varieties sake."

You should've ran the conversion play. Bought the Slim, and left him the Tech. Went back to your car, retrieved a tuck of Israelis Personnas (I can't be the only guy with a tuck in the car), and PIF'd it.

"Use the Tech on your next shave. Whatever it is you use, this is better."
Step 1: Convert him to vintage razors.
Step 2: Convince him to join Badger & Blade.
Step 3: Watch as he develops RAD and buys every Gillette ever made.

I’ve never been asked. If I were, I’d respond that multi blade carts and electrics cause me irritation and DE razors don’t. Maybe that would start a conversation where I could convince the other person to try a DE.

Why do you that many?
Can you still get blades for them?
They can be as good or better than Gillette Fusion?

I try to convince all my friends to use DE razors, just so I won't feel alone :)

I been shaveing with DE's for 15 years or so, and no one have joined me. What a shame, I have not been collecting vintage razors for that long, but it's a grate a fun hobby would love to share it with my friends.

My grandfather is the only person I know who uses a DE razor, and he is quite rich so he's is not doing it to save money. Once when I visited him, I asked about his razor. He's been using the same old vintage razor with vintage Feather blades for years. It was worn in a way that made the edger perfectly smooth, that razor is probably older than I am. Holding it, I immediately uderstood why he's never switched to modern razors. It looked very efficient, didn't feel heavy, it was nimble, and it wouldn't never clog. The blade lined up perfectly, didn't have any wiggle in the threads, even better than my Rockwell 6s. Seeing how simple and effective his setup was. It made me feel that there was whole world of DE shaving world that got almost got wiped of the planet of earth.
