My favorite knot is the Windsor, but all of my newer ties are fairly thick material and a Half Windsor fills the collar as well as a Windsor would with my few remaining silk ties that are in good condition.

I don't care at all for the Four In Hand... it just doesn't look "finished"

You forgot an option, the Pratt/Shelby knot! That one is my favorite, a slightly smaller half windsor, fits my slim frame perfectly.

I honestly had never heard of the Pratt/Shelby when I started this thread. Otherwise, I would have included it.

I wore a Pratt knot today for Easter and it's great! Like you said it's basically a Half-Windsor but a little smaller of a knot and it doesn't take up as much tie length.

Its new to me as well. Definately will give it a try the next time I go to work.

I normally use a windsor. I've tried the Four in Hand, but with a 17+ inch neck I don't feel it fills the collar enough.

(Double) windsor. It's the only knot I know and I never had the desire to learn another one.

Nicely symetrical and full.

I prefer to have it slightly loose (but not shabby) with the top button of my shirt open.

although, i haven't tried it (yet) my wife sent me a link to the "eldredge knot"......but to answer the ?, my favorite is a full Windsor.

Wow, the things you learn! I've tied a Pratt/Shelby knot for the past 40 years and never knew what it was called. My dad taught me to tie it and I never asked.
