Not made for these times.
Good morning, coffee crew.

Mad Priest Dark Night of the Soul.
French press.
Black.

It's 50° in Music City right now with a high around 70° today. Partly cloudy. Lots of things are blooming around here and people's allergies are amping up. About 7 hours of sleep last night.

Relaxing day ahead. Just a few emails to send out. Back in my studio on Thursday.

Have a peaceful Tuesday, my friends.

I got to open a new brick of German supermarket coffee this morning. I only have one package of coffee open at I time to avoid neglecting something. My girlfriend insists that it be transferred to a class container after being opened. Personally, I would leave it in the package, tape it closed and then put the package into a tin box. That's what I did before I met her.

My wife wasn’t using this so I decided to use it for coffee. It’s an oxo 1.4 L push button air tight container. It holds a pound of coffee and it keeps the coffee fresh.

I have to agree with your girlfriend . I transfer all coffee into recycled coffee cans or to glass jars . No plastic for me , even all my spices get transfered to glass jars .

How's the flavor of this German / Swiss coffee ?.... Arabica ?

How's the flavor of this German / Swiss coffee ?.... Arabica ?

Möwenpick is very good, strong coffee, perhaps the best German supermarket coffee. It is a mixture of Arabica and Robusta. Every week, we work through the flyers from the supermarkets, and try to buy what's on sale. Sometimes we have a backlog of coffee - we never run out.

You're right. Möwenpick is actually a Swiss company. However, the coffee is roasted and packed for them by Darboven, an old German company in Hamburg, where most coffee roasters are located.

By the way, many supposedly Swiss products (several brands of chocolate) are meanwhile made in Germany because of lower production costs.

Cheers,

Gauthier
