What's new

What's your coffee today? What brew method? Photos

I've had moka pots but was never able to get anything drinkable out of it. More like a camp style perk than espresso in my experience.
Playing with the lever today using different ways that the Nurri is capable of pulling a shot. A blooming shot today.

Hello, from vaguely snowy Philly.

The major says vaguely snowy, because he remembers that school wouldn't close if there was less than a foot of accumulation. That again, that makes him sound like an old boy complaining that he had to walk to and from school, up hill both ways!

After waking, he had to let his K9 officer into the back yard to... do her business. Let's just say that nobody will ever mistake her for a St. Bernard.

Obviously, she was exhausted afterwards.

She was actually so tired that couldn't pick the majors coffee this morning. So, the major decided to pick something that seemed appropriate for the day, that being a nice hot that being a nice black cup of Jamaican Me Crazy in the AeroPress. Seemed appropriate, given the weather.

I read the news sites and see that the United States has been covered by a huge amount of snow. I wish you to deal with this with the least possible consequences.

Spasybo. But, to be honest, the Major prefers to deal with snow in the simplest way: STAY HOME! Don't drive unless you have literally no other choice. Seriously, stay home, play in the snow, drink a hot beverage, make a snowman or have a snowball fight with your kids, just don't drive.

Consider that an order.

Most especially, don't be one of the idiots with four wheel drive who thinks that gives them the ability to drive like a moron. No, it doesn't give you the ability to drive like a moron. Four-wheel drive gives the ability to drive normally, even safely, in less than ideal conditions. If you drive like a moron in the snow, you'll crash this is surely as you would if you drove like a moron in perfect weather.

Everyone stay safe and STAY HOME!

Today, I made two brews (one in the morning and one in the evening) with Atomic Coffee Roasters (Peabdy, MA) - Guatemala Ayarza beans using the glass April Brewer with Kalita 155 filter. In the morning, I used the James Perry Coffee - 4 Pour recipe with a coarser grind than yesterday. It was a little distant and a little dry.

In the evening, I used the April Gabi B recipe that I just found. I changed the ratio and water temperature as compared to April's recipe but wound up with a delicious cup!
That recipe was effectively a two-pour recipe but the dripping of the Gabi B was rated at 2ml per second by one website I reviewed. That makes me think I should try the April standard 2-pour recipe and see how that works. Normally, April roasts their beans to a Nordic/extremely light roast. My current beans are not roasted that lightly.

G'day all!
Early morning and fairly busy day today, so I ended up having three coffees, but I didn't have any yesterday so it balances out.
I made a Turkish coffee while it was still dark outside and used up the last of my pre-ground (just as well, I wasn't a fan of the dark roast so I was looking forward to finishing it off so I could get a new bag). Had a macchiato at the market and once I got home it had warmed up so I had an iced latte and some pfeffernusse biscuits.
Edit: Also not coffee related, but Mum took a photo of my twin bro and I while we where coming back from the market, and I though it looked cool enough to share (I'm on the left wearing the jelly bean camo). Featuring Melbourne icons such as a tram and Flinder St Station.

Good morning, guys! Up up up so i’ll fill up my cup cup cup of joe because I gotta keep the flow going and this Thursday it looks like it might be snowing! Oh my whatever shall I do but drink some coffee virtually with all of you. So this morning i drank two cups of Verve coffee beans using the Moccamaster and enjoyed black. When life hands ya lemons, bake a lemon pound cake because it goes great with coffee. Nyuk nyuk nyuk….as those three stooges of yester years used to say! Peace 🕊️🌈🤩🐶

Not made for these times.
Good morning, coffee crew.

Mad Priest Sloth Dispelleing.
French press.
Black.

It's 29° in Music City right now with a high around 34°. Partly cloudy to sunny with some flurries here and there. I'm still keeping my eye on Friday since I'm seeing up to 5 inches of snow possible now. About 7 hours of sleep last night.

In the studio for a few hours later and stopping by Publix on my way home to pick up a few things. That's a wrap.

Have a blessed Tuesday, my friends.
