What's your coffee today? What brew method? Photos

Great thread! We just got back from a couple of weeks in Vietnam (my wife and her side of the family are Vietnamese) and have been tooling around with a phin from Nguyen Coffee Supply since we got back. Beans are their Hanoi blend.

I've been geeking out on good coffee for a few years and using a phin + robusta beans wasn't even on my radar prior to this trip. The coffee in Vietnam (especially Hanoi) was some of the best I've ever had, and I just assumed it was from French press. The phin is similar (but better) and even easier to use than a Mocca Technivorm drip brewer. Good stuff.
I’ve never used a phin but the photos @malocchio and @Lil Cooties post definitely have it on my radar. It’s nice to see another example!

G'day all!
Like the other day, iced latte with a few teaspoons of sugar and some speculaas biscuits.
Pleasant day today, tomorrow is going to be a scorcher, estimated high of 41c/106f, I'll make sure to have plenty of ice cubes on hand.

Methodical Late Night this morning. I ground quite a bit finer for my second try with the Drip Assist. It‘s pretty good, but I think the sweet spot is going to be a little coarser with a little slower pour. I’m not totally sold on the Drip Assist yet. I think it’s a useful tool for eliminating inconsistent pours as a variable, but I think a kettle that lends itself to slow pours would be better without it.

Good morning, coffee crew.

Eight O'Clock Original. French press. Black.

It's overcast and 50° in Music City right now with a high around 57° today. I'm enjoying these warmer temps. Slight chance of rain this afternoon. About 7 hours of sleep last night.

Looking forward to football, wings and cold beer later. 🏈🍗🍻

Have a blessed Sunday, my friends.

Good afternoon, all.

The Major and his CO have had a fairly busy weekend, seeing as how all four kids are home for the first time in, well, months. It has been, as it always is at such times, love, chaotic, messy, and full of love.

Obviously, the major needed to start this day with a fresh ground cup of Love Blend, from his favorite local roster, High Point in Mount Airy, Philadelphia.

Well his older daughter doesn't much care for coffee, she definitely does love his K9 officer.

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a lovely morning! This morning I am drinking 6-cups of Bones AODC, in my 30-oz Yeti tumbler. A nice chocolaty caffeinated start of the day! :cuppa:

The beginning of the month, I ordered a Fellow Stagg EKG gen1 kettle, and it finally arrived. Its a real nice unit folks, feels good in the hand, looks good, and it heats up 30-oz of water fast, perfect for my Yeti, when I'm not doing a drip brew.

Yes, I know I had the lid on wrong, I rotated it after I took the picture. 👀

And thats not all either! I also ordered the LTT Ratcheting Multi-Bit Screwdriver. Holds 12-bits inside the bit storage locker, smooth handle, ratcheting selector switch, great knurling on the shaft, magnet in shaft to hold the bit in use, ratcheting mechanism smooth like butta. This is a great tool for doing electronics work, or odd-jobs around the home.

" HANOI BLEND " ... I know their DARK ROAST HANOI is 100% Robusta beans ... is yours an Arabica / Robusta blend ?? ... 70/30 ? .... I have they SS phin and a smaller borosilicate glass cup , really nice quality .

I spend seven weeks on the road this Fall using the smaller size Kalita Wave pour over using whatever kettle was available. I was wishing I had a drip assist but can't find one for this small size brewer.
Today I had the leisure of an afternoon macchiato and totally botched the milk.
I e had Vietnamese coffee in restaurants, French style (?). Lots of evaporated milk.

Good morning, coffee crew.

Mad Priest Dark Night of the Soul. French press. Black.

It's 56° right now on this rainy morning here in Music City. We're heading up to about 62° today with more showers expected throughout the day into the evening. About 7 hours of peaceful sleep. I took some Ashwagandha and L-Theanine before bed. Looking forward to lunch with my mother today. She has requested pizza and a beer, ha. Stopping by my local Sprouts today to pick up a few things as well. Just relaxing the rest of the day

Have a peaceful Monday, my friends.

Awww, thats too adorable, what a pair! But whats this I hear she don't like coffee, come on man, coffee comes from the God's! I tell you what, I rather get energized on caffeinated coffee, ( which actually tastes great btw ) then to get energized with a giant monster drink from the other side! The K9 officer is being well taken care of obviously, I bet she was missed by her. Great to have wonderful family over for Christmas holiday season.
Really fooled me .... I thought that was Doctor Who's Sonic Screwdriver ...

Sonic the hedge hog is banned over here, he has a mighty temper problem, that ends up putting holes through walls, and setting things on fire. Besides, my home is broken enough as it is, we need these screwdrivers to fix things, to bring chaos to order around here. Better living when your not getting screwed by a company, I rather be the one to do the screwing, when things actually get fixed. LOL
