I tried this Ever Ready 150 today. The knot is holding together, but it is like overcooked pasta. No scrub, no backbone. I will probably lop it off and install something fresh.

Do you have one of the standard density versions to compare it to? I'm considering trying one of them out but can't find ANY comparative info for the extra dense knots!

I have an STF XL 25mm from early 2023, which is the original density. As you can see, the bloom of the denser knot (left) is greater than the tighter original. I don't know if that's a standard variation thing or reflects a real difference since they're both set to 55mm loft, though the new knot is a bit shorter in overall length. Performance-wise there isn't a world of difference, just a subtle increase in backbone and face feel. Splay and flowthrough remain excellent, and the tips soft as a feather.
