Burrata starter, my Amatriciana with bacon, her bolognese and a pannacotta to finish.
The Portuguese market sells packages of frozen seafood. I know fresh>frozen and crab>krab, but I thought I would give a seafood and rice stew a shot. Sauteed onion and green pepper and garlic, seasoned with Sazón, added the seafood, then water, white wine, lemon juice, and the rice, and let it simmer. I’ll give it a fair grade, but many nights edible is all I need.

This is a I can't be bothered meal. A breakfast hotdog? The wife is overseas meal.

If only black pudding was available around here. Fried in some grease with a bit of shallots, some mashed potatoes, a glass of wine or hard cider, makes for a stellar lunch
Made egg drop soup to go with odds and ends. Finished the last of an Orange Cranberry tea cake made earlier in the week.

Dull yet interesting
With Mrs. Lockback out of commission as she recovers from knee replacement surgery, we have been blessed to get a cornucopia of meals from friends and neighbors, including beef vegetable soup(s) - from two different people, mushroom burgers, cookies, macaroni and cheese w/lobster & crab, chicken and noodle soup and we've got more coming tomorrow. It's truly an embarrassment of riches. We literally can't keep up with it all. But it's much appreciated. It's nice to have friends and neighbors who care. 
Spicy fennel chicken - marinade in fennel, turmeric, coriander, garlic, ginger, Garam Masala, chili, salt, pepper and sliced onions for 3 - 4 hours then 15 mins in the Air Fryer. Very good. Served with boiled white potatoes and green salad.
Turn over the photos. I have to turn my head around. And this is very inconvenient.
A bowl of olives still looks like a bowl of olives, regardless of the orientation.

Dull yet interesting
So far, so good. She's on the right track.
Almond crusted cod tonight, with a spinach cream sauce and leftover flatbread from lunch. Jasmati and wild rice were cooked in lobster stock from two nights ago.
Last night's dinner, beef stew - red wine, beef stock from a box, onions, carrots, bouquet garni and about 4 hours over a low heat. There was a bit leftover for my lunch just now. Excellent. But not very pretty!

So we had Duck Confit with red cabbage, potato dumplings and cranberry sauce (sorry no pics). As I got a very rare 4WD duck one leg was a leftover 
so I tried my hands on some Rillettes.
Now in the fridge, will report back in a couple of days.

Doesn’t look like much but I believe it went well.
On a business trip to Germany at lunch one day there was a venison rillette on the table. Though I was a little apprehensive about it once I tried it, I fell in love with it. Fantastic stuff.
