Before moving to a straight I was using a DE.
I was in a hurry and trying to quickly shave one night (The root of the problem).
I was shaving the moustache area and flipped my DE over to the other side quickly.
In the process my son grabbed my leg and while the DE was rotating it clipped the bottom of my nose slicing it nicely.

Thought I'd add to this, as I gave myself a wopper a few weeks ago. I tend to use a 3 piece with a Nylon washer to protect the head. This means when you unscrew the razor, it doesn't jump in your hand and gives some grip whilst you rotate it. Basically it feels tighter for longer whilst you undo it.
Well I lost the washer the other day, couldn't be bothered to find it, so tightened up the razor and had a nice shave without it.
Time came to unscrew it. I had wet hands, I twisted the head and... zing! the head jumped and flipped round in my fingers, neatly slicing a huge chunk of skin off the side of my index finger.

For a moment, nothing happened and then... woosh! blood evrywhere. Lots of tissue required, the skin has only just grown back. I now have a new washer and tend to use a towel when I feel the thing is too tight to move. My wife is a doctor. She tells me I should not do this again.

I nicked my ear the other night. Never even felt the cut, but realised when I felt a bit of resistance when the blunt nose of the SR got to my earlobe. Then I saw a tiny thread of blood where my lobe joins onto the side of my face!

It’s not that deep, but it’s my first proper cut while shaving with anything. Definitely a reminder to ensure I can see the entire blade while moving the razor.

Surely a Turkish point is where you strap a full grown Turkish man on to the end of the razor? I'd imagine difficult for getting under the jaw but would make you a damn good coffee in the morning :)

What's a "Turkish" point. I am familiar with Dutch, French, American and Spanish.
It’s much like a Spanish point. You can see I dulled the point to make it a bit safer. It’s still dangerous!

Actually, a Turkish point is where I punctuate a sentence ;D

Interestingly, never even heard of it here in Istanbul, not that anyone really uses SR.

Even the barbers use shavettes-fake! :/

With any razor, when I forget to preheat the blade. Always had cold cuts. 2003, Gillette Mach 3 Turbo, was going for the 3rd round of cleanup, bit my nose, and i still have the scar 19 years later. 2022, resumed experimenting and tried out Straight, Shavette, and Safety razors, it's been hell, if I ever don't preheat the blade. Straight sliced the area where the ear lobe meets the far side of the face. Shavette blade was jammed under my neck, on my upper lip, and close to my side burns. DE, if I cold grip it, slides on my face like a knife through butter leaving Picasso cuts and scarring eventually. This is all from being careless, and not following the required pre-shave routine. Most of our cuts are due to our lack of control on hand eye coordination. I did everything for the pre-shave, except I prefer cold water, instead of warm. And the moment I cut myself, I remember. Now I've changed to evening shaves.
