Following up as promised. I really like the Lamy Vista. To be honest, on certain types of paper the Platinum Preppy writes as well as the Vista, although the Preppy still tends to dry out while writing, regardless of the paper. The Lamy is more consistent and flows better even though the extra fine nib is slightly finer than the 03 (fine) nib on the Preppy. My initial concerns about the size and triangle grip of the Lamy appear silly now, because neither one seems to be an issue at all. Here is a picture of the pen right after I put the cartridge in:

Great- Lamys are solid performers.
 
Glad you like the Vista! I have never tried the EF nib, but if you think that is a bit thick, I guess suggesting a 1.1 is out...:lol:
