I only (re)discovered this flat bottom New set with a thin "Tech" handle this morning, as I looked for what to use today. I have a near identical flat bottom Tech set with this handle, so I'd clearly just forgotten about this one! I'd guess that both sets would date to the mid/late '40s

The flat bottom New is a great razor in any of its guises; they come with all sorts of different handles and pin configurations and also branded as Minoras, Nacets, 7 O'Clocks or Rubies. They're so easy to use that it almost feels like cheating! A typically efficient, easy shave from this one today.

One leaker; No irritation; Too Close; Very Smooth; Pleasant DFS+ shave. Leaker stopped on rinse. No alum sting and no witch Hazel sting.

The blade is still nice on the second shave. Still only WTG and XTG.

I think I make too many passes as part of me struggles not to go ATG and I want the closer shave. But even so, zero irritation. So it seems all the trouble I have had is due to ATG shaving. Eventually I will try and go back to that, but maybe only every other day or something.

It is hard accepting a lesser shave than I want and can achieve, but it is so nice to have zero irritation.
