What kind of latherer are you?

Face, soap or cream. Used to bowl lather, then only bowl lathered with creams, now simply face lather for all of it.

I'm a face latherer.
I load (swirling for 5-10 sec) for one pass (the thin cheap brush can't hold much more anyway) and let the lather be on the face for 2-3 mins to soften the whiskers. Then I correct the lather (depending on the soap I have to add more water bit by bit).
After rinsing between passes I smear the remaining on the face, reload the brush and start over.

I have soft water and I have never needed the practice to soak the soap, hot water on top or something else.
Even MWF which doesn't work for many people doesn't give me any problems this way.

Am I the only one who mostly hand lathers?

I have tried face and bowl and like both, but lately I have been getting the best results by hand lathering. I like to FEEL exactly what the lather feels like and I think this is the best way.

By next month I may have changed my mind but for now it's what I'm enjoying.

Was a bowl latherer, and the lather was like meringue, but really airy. Face lathering has provided me with a denser, richer lather regardless of whether or not I use a soap or cream.
