It depends on how I value my time..... I average about four hours a week combing flea markets, antique stores, thrift shops and the like. I have several really great finds that are definitely worth more than I paid in pure cash. Time and gas are another story, but it is a pretty innocuous hobby.

What I paid or what I could potentially sell everything for individualy on the Ebay. I paid less than $500 for everything I have but I could most likely get well over 1K if I sold every thing slowly. I am a big time bargain hunter and have been quite lucky over the years to find some great pieces. I dont think I have ever paid more than $15 for a DE or SE. My cheapest find was a lot of 5 razors @ $2 a piece. I as only going to buy one but then woman told me they were all $2 and I said ill take them all haha.

Regards
Dave

keeping this some options for lower than $1K could have been helpful for us noobs (me: 1 year shaving)
Also I don't like tons of things so I have PIF'd brushes to newbies to convert them, razors, soaps. some here, mostly at work.

We are just talking postage cost right?

505 lines in my spreadsheet listing razor purchases only (some are for multiple razors).

Almost all from overseas, mainly USA.

While it has gone up more recently lets stick with an average postage cost of $15 for a small flat rate box when I started.

Go ahead and do the maths.

Now should I try and add up the collection value? or not bother !

Inb4 Mark1966 or Ervargas $$$$$$$$$$$$

That's what I was going to say. If I were any of them I would likely not divulge the true extent of my collections worth. When your that serious a collector many things need to be held close to the vest.

I didn't see that you'd posted before I hit post on my last reply. Since you're into just the postal service(s) for almost $7600 I think that's a good start on the math.

I'm sure you have some pieces that are nearly priceless in collecting circles and I for one am glad you are here to share knowledge with us and from time to time you let a few gems back into the world that some of us can use to kick start our collections. I'm really interested in collecting razors but I'm not sure I'm ready to commit the kind of money you and some of the other big collectors do. I admire it greatly though. I just love to see passion in people, almost irregardless of the specific hobby. Passion is exciting. Obsession, well........

I just like looking at your stuff.
