Monday morning - DFS working man's shave.

Vintage Gem razor with alloy handle, Yaqi's Viper made short work of the lather with Proraso Green, followed by a quick (work day!) shave, finished with my old favourite, Malizia Uomo Vetyver AS.
DFS+ after a decent 2 pass with a bit of touch-up, and little feedback from the Malizia aftershave. The Gem seems to be quite easy to get the hang of, but don't let your attention lapse!
Score - 9.5.

Vintage Gem razor with alloy handle,..

Those GEM razors had a lot of different handles over the years. I don't think I've seen that aluminum one before, though.

The most common seems to be the brass "chain link" handle, like I've got. Probably a good bit heavier than the aluminum one.

I've also got one with a plastic handle.

9.5/10 Great shave overall I just dont feel too hot about the shave cream. It smells great. I dont think using a bowl or brush makes it better ultimately. It might be better just using your hand. But to be perfectly honest I think next shave I will use some proraso white. Something with a much better lather. This shave cream is better than some non concentrated shave creams I have used in the past. Duke Cannon recently discontinued it and I think I can see why. Its not bad but not extraordinary either. I got it at half price but usually its double what I paid. Anyways the rest of the shave performance was great per usual. No problems with the henson or RK blades.

Comments: 2 days growth on sensitive skin/coarse beard. Excellent evening shave! Taiga OC with Rapira SS blade did its thing-perfection on all counts. Nothing compares to unbleached high-quality high density badger knot-extremely soft, yet with good comfy backbone. Feel is very natural, it is like you can feel the badger watching you shave with its trimmed hair . DM Legacy soap produced really thick, slick and dense lather. The scent is just out of this world- classy, I would describe the scent as royal citrus. Truly legendary soap. Finished off with matching DM Legacy aftershave splash-amazing, good balance of bite and afterburn. Rating: 9.8/10

I swapped out from Tech’s to a G3 Fatboy today. I have not used one for a long time and it showed. I struggles getting under my nose and above the top lip. This Kai blade may take a shave or two to settle down as it didn’t perform as well as the last Kai blade when I first used it two weeks ago. I would rate the shave 8.5/10.
