A superb face shave in the shower. Love the B&M Leviathan. This will likely be the first 'artisan' soap I finish off.
Opened the BRG Fatboy up to 7 for this shave. Got a little bite from it. Not sure what happened, but I'm blaming it on residual effects of being under anesthesia 24 hours ago.

BRG Fatboy, Derby Extra blade, Grandslam synthetic, Barrister & Mann LEVIATHAN (soap, splash, cologne)

Prep: Hot Water
Razor: Rex Konsul XL Rhodium 🇺🇸
Blade: Rapira SS 🇷🇺
Soap: AE Khalifa 🇺🇸
Lather Bowl: None
Brush: HLS 24mm WT Finest 2band Badger in Polished Titanium🇷🇺
Aftershave: AE Khalifa 🇺🇸
Quality: Slick BBS
Comments: Marvelous head shave! Rex Konsul XL shined through the head shave again in its glory. Paired with Rapira SS-it glided smoothly and effortlessly. AE Khalifa Soap and Aftershave -amazing scent, lather and moisturizer. The smell is black afgano through and through. Slick BBS is the result, no nicks, 100% gliding head surface, mirror finish. Rating 9.7/10.

Happy Friday!
A solid DFS today...although I feel I'm stretching the Flydear a bit at 5 shaves in the Fatip Lo Storto OC slant. AS feedback was - er - significant!
Comfort 2/3

For anyone interested in photography, I have been playing with lights and a few gel filters recently. For this pic I used 3 lights - 1 to backlight the white wall using a green gel, an indirect cool light on the right, using the white wall on the left as a reflector, and a warm, low intensity direct light onto the shaving gear from left top. It should be right top, but I don't have anywhere to attach it! My lights are actually just a couple of plain old LED torches, and I use Prestik/Blu Tac to keep them where they need to be - nothing too fancy. Pic is unedited, as my phone captured it.

Razor: Gillette New LC (replated in nickel)
Blade: Elios Inox (older German version) (2)
Brush: Semogue C5 Torga boar
P/S: AoS Lemon shaving cream (diluted)
Soap: Haslinger Sandelholz
A/S: Dickinson's witch hazel
A/S: Epsilon Blue

DFS+

The Elios blade in the New Long Comb turned out to be a pretty good match.

SOTD: 04/03/2025

Razor: Muhle R41 GS
Blade: Wizamet Super Iridium, 1st use
Brush: Mondial Antica Barberia AL
Bowl: Cayuen Dark Nebula Bowl
Soap: Mondial No. 908 Homme
Aftershave: Mondial No. 908 Homme
Additional Care: Thayers Witch Hazel (Unscented)

The R41 GS is a beast. It’s not the most comfortable shave because you feel like you’re getting a chemical peel but when it’s done you’re as hairless as the day you arrived on earth. Mondial No 908 is a bit curry-esque in its scent notes but makes a nice lather. BBS+

Wishing you a calm evening.

The lighting is beautiful!

A very elegant TTO. I love shaving with the English Red Tip! :001_wub:

Superb 3-Pass DFS

Razor: Blackland Osprey Titanium
Blade: Nacet
Brush: Captains Choice Synthetic
Pre-shave: Proraso Blue Protective
Soap: Proraso Red
Aftershave: Varon Dandy
Bowl: Captains Choice Travel Size copper

Just a daily face shave tonight. Went with the Osprey Titanium set on 2 going for a comfortable mild shave tonight. Tried something different tonight. Following @Sethology's thread Buff/scrub paraphrasing here but "I shaved basically rapidly scrubbing/buffing my face with my razor. I used really light pressure while doing it. Mostly riding the cap. I didn't even take the razor off my face for a lot of it. Just back and forth (up and down) in little swipes, not long ones."

When I read the posts it sounded weird but hey it actually works. I did two passes. One WTG and one ATG. I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked. No irritation afterwards and BBS. And it was quick. Not sure if I'll try it for head shaving yet but I'm willing to try it for face shaving for a while. Splashed on some of my new Varon Dandy aftershave and called it a night.
I'm rating tonight 10/10 :pipe:

WOW! Back to back amazing shaves. I got the Nacets thanks to The Great Blade Exchange as well as the Bic I used last night. Ordered a hundred of the Bics. Looks like I'll be ordering a hundred Nacet's as well. Another near BBS shave. 👍

1) Portugal: Brush Semogue Hereditas Boar.
2) Italy: Shaving Soap Cella Red Tub.
3) USA: Razor Gillette NDC Gold Ball End Tech.
4) Japan: Razor Blade Kai shave twelve.
5) Italy: Alum Block Proraso.
6) Italy: Aftershave Balm Nivea Men Sensitive Skin and Stubble Balm.
7) USA: EDT Pierre Cardin Bleu Marine.

Shave twelve on this Japanese Kai blade. It is starting to slow down as it is starting to struggle when going ATG. There was no blood or visible irritation but there was a little more sting when I used my Alum Block. I would still rate the shave as an 8/10.

Dear Dave, could you kindly tell me more about your Shelby shaving soap? Is it a US artisan? Is it tallow or tallow-free (sorry, the razor's head partially covers the ingredients list). Please, also add your thoughts on it. Thanks!
