Razor: Henson AL 13 ++
Blade: Gillette 7 oclock Super stainless (1)
Soap: Arko
Post: Omega Alum stick, Thayers Witch Hazel & Acqua Velva Musk

This was my first time using the Henson AL 13++... first time using any Henson. Doing a head shave with it took a lot of time learning to use the correct angle. Did two pass WTG and ATG, did XTG on sides of head and then needed to do several touch ups in areas where I guess I didn't get that angle correct. Eventually nailed a BBS on head. Moved onto neck and was much easier, did WTG one pass and that was pretty much it. Wonderful and smooth.

I think as I get used to the Henson it will be excellent to work with, just going to take some time for the head shave.

9.5/10 DFS to start Friday. Face lathered Proraso Wood and Spice with Yaqi's Viper boar bristle brush after a good shower. Shaved with the Yaqi Mellon SLOC, with a Wilkinson blade on day 9... close but not quite as smooth as it could have been. Time for a new one, or do I push it for one more shave?

The new (for me) Nautica Voyage Heritage EDC is awesome - at NZ$25 it's a steal. Fresh and crisp notes, good projection without being overpowering, and it lasts well too.

Today’s shave….

Gillette made in England flare tip with the alternative knurling pattern
Gillette ninja SP
Zenith unbleached boar
Hampshire wool fat / SV Opuntia frankensoap
This razor is so smooth and shaves very close with the SP blade. Put a puck of Hampshire in with a nearly finished tin of SV Opuntia and it’s a terrific combo….adds a bit more scent and makes some super slick lather.
It almost feels like there’s no blade in the razor but the glassy finish suggests otherwise. Great razor and a great shave .

I just discovered the Henson myself for head shaving.
I have the A++ and the A+++ and I am on the fence what one I prefer.

Do let me know how the +++ fares for the head shave. The ++ is nice just need to get that angling right!
