Surprisingly excellent and close shave. Perhaps blade choice is more important than razor choice?

Razor: Merkur 34C
Blade: Shark Super Chrome🦈
Brush: Simpson Duke 3 LE Sovereign 23mm Blue Candy
Soap: Mike's Orange, Cedarwood, & Black Pepper 🍊
Pre shave: Kyle's Routine, La Toja 🇪🇸
Aftershave: Stirling Glacial Iced Pineapple 🍍❄️

What a super lather this soap makes!
A hard soap but softens up nicely in the bowl if you soak it for 5 min.

It's been a while since I've used the Glacial Iced Pineapple and wow what a treat.
Very good shave with only a few spots of remaining roughness on my neck, these are difficult to clean up and usually result in skin irritation so today I said "good enough."
Feeling great!

Hello friends

A slightly milder day. Today, I chose MdC Vetiver, SOC Mistura, Lupo 95 SB with the RazoRock Vintage Thin Bar Handle and continued with the Gillette Nacet (3). An impeccable shave! I finished with the delicious Malizia Uomo and Tom Ford Grey Vetiver.

With us, the amazing Johnny Hodges.

Have a wonderful day and great shaves!

Today is 03–05-2025.

Razor: Vintage Gillette - Slim Adjustable - H-2, (Year - 1962)
Blade: Gillette 7-O Clock Permasharp - Stainless Blade - DAY # 7 USEAGE
Bowl: N/A
Soap/Cream: Cremo - Refreshing Mint, smell is great.
Brush/Instrument: Fingers/Omega Boar
Extra Stuff: Witch Hazel

Used my Vintage Gillette’s today it a Slim Adjustable - H-2, (Year - 1962), I bought from a Badger & Blade Member, and forgot guy USERNAME. Three passes, With, Across, &, Against the Grain, using a Gillette 7-O Clock Permasharp - Stainless Blade. Today was DAY # SEVEN for this Blade, last Shave for this Blade it went to recycle bin. No longer cutting like hot knife into stuck of butter, but still worked. This is one of my favorite Blades still, it is a lot of Blade for reasonable price. IMHO

Shave today was Dam Fine Shave but did not achieving perfection rating, would be 9.99++ Close to BBS. Results were great because I payed a lot with there Adjustment Dial on the Slim, Starting out on Setting 1 the LOWEST for first pass, then moving up to Setting 2 to do passes # 2, move up to setting 3 to finish off pass # 3. Technique, Head Angle, and Gap Changing reaped rewards, of DFS, not chasing BBS, but still got Another Great Shave. 1,2,3, setting work for me, but that is my sweet spots.

Using Tube today of Cremo - Refreshing Mint, This scent is very very nice, it doesn’t knock you over, but scent is present. It leaves a slight tingling sensation like menthol post use. Still working in the Cremo with my Omega Boar, it seems to helped getting Beard to stand up for closer shave. Working with Brush on Face don’t lather much, but seem to help raise Beard for Shaving off. Tube must be old stock, ask it still boasts 90 DAY SUPPLY. No way 90 day supply, I only get little over three weeks per tube using everyday until gone.

I am a Vintage Gillette Junkie, That is all I own, they work well, never failing to give good DF Shave with New Sharp Blade. This Adjustable Slim is my heaviest Razor, compared to other Vintages I own, always have problem adjust to the Weight, but the Longer Handle is a PLUS. But this is a flipping Great Razor, that does produce a DFS, can’t imagine much better results from a modern super razor. Sorry but people need to try a Vintage Gillette Slim Adjustable, if they don’t own one, lot of bang for buck, any many levels of aggression built into one Razor. JMHO

Prep: Hot Shower/Amish beard oil
Razor: Rex Konsul Xl Rhodium
Blade: Kai (2)
Cream: CF 1445
Brush: HLS Polished Titanium 2band finest WT badger
Lather Bowl: CC Obsidian
Alum Stick: Sprouts mineral block
Aftershave: FA Snake Bite
Quality: Slick BBS
Comments: head shave. Just terrible. Used Kai blade for the second time-big mistake…dull and catchy. Think I jumped too fast to my conclusion the first turn using it. Even then it was trailing second behind my all time favorite Rapira SS. But now, Kai is out in the garbage category for me. Got nasty nick on my head…had to switch to other blade to finish. Just terrible. Kai blade ruined it. Still got slick bbs though due to other items in my arsenal.

Razor: Above The Tie S1 Slant (Blackland version)
Brush: Shavemac ST badger
Per shave: Proraso Blue
Soap: La Toja
Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman

Only had time for a quick face shave this morning. Will do a head save later tonight when I have more time to enjoy the process. Grabbed a shave stick for the first time. Did a quick lather and shave. Two passes with a little cleanup using the new ATT S1 Slant. This razor is good! Able to get a really nice comfortable shave. Close DFS more than acceptable shave 👍. I still rate it as a 7.5/10 based on limited time and effort.

2nd March GRUME shave. Edit: i keep putting amethist for the CC bowl it's aquamarine...

Today's shave was a bad one, but i was most of the problems.

Pre-Shave: Hot Shower with Stirling Soap Co. Deep Blue Sea Bar Soap.
Razor&Blade: 1959 Gillette Fatboy loaded with an ASCO Super Stainless Blade. A new blade that seemed to do a good job of mowing down my face fur but i felt fur after i finished. I also thought i had to do some buffing and did a bad job of it causing irritation and blood about the size of the Fatboy's head, alum helped stop the weepers.
Lather Gear: Yaqi 24mm Synthetic Mountain Lake, Captain's Choice Copper Aquamarine Bowl and @BigAlVista Sauvage IV Soap Puck. The lather i made it up in seconds and i only gave the puck a few swipes to get the smoothest/slickest lather i have used so far. I am terrible at trying to describe flavors/scents but it's a scent my sniffer got a sniff of and i wasn't knocked over by it and even after balming my face/neck i still got the scent of Sauvage IV.

The gear gets a 9.5/10 Sauvage IV boosts up the rating 1.5.

One and a half day beard growth.

Lent begins. Shower and shave before going to evening Mass for Ash Wednesday.

Really nice shave. Stretching under the neck allowed the SS and the Kai blade to get really close. Smooth and comfortable.

Three passes:

WTG, XTG, ATG and one clean-up pass.

No nicks.
No weepers.
No irritation.
DFS++ shave.

Cheers!

Razor: Rocnel 304
Blade: Dorco Prime Platinum, 1st use
Brush: Trotter Barber
Bowl: Cayuen Dark Nebula Bowl
Soap: Stirling Lady In White
Aftershave: Stirling Lady In White
Balm: Whollykaw Bare Naked
Additional Care: Thayers Witch Hazel (Unscented)

2nd shave with the Rocnel 304, this time tuned-up with a Dorco Prime. Just as yesterday, the comfort was shockingly high while the efficiency remained low. All told, it’s a fun and enjoyable razor which delivers a relaxing shave. Perfect for the beginner or days when you want to take it easy and just enjoy the shave. A keeper. With the Dorco it bumped up slightly to a BBS-/DFS+.

Wishing you some great shaves.
