This was the first shave of 2025 and it was a great one. This years shaves began with my favorite razor, the Karve Overlander. Always a great shave, with no drama or irritation. Love the Stirling Scots Pine Sheep, it has little, if any scent, but the performance is the main attraction. All the players were excellent today! 9.5/10

New Omega 6217 is fairly nice. TOBS Eton College is a nice contemporary citrus accord of orange, mandarin, grapefruit, and lemon, with a bit of powdery white heliotrope.

Very nice, relaxing shave. Two passes (WTG+ATG) gave me a comfortable not-quite DFS. Blade was a bit scrapey, so I didn't want to risk a third pass.

Razor : Yaqi Sentinel 1.5mm 316 SSP with a Yaqi Tear drop handle 316 SSP. Mfg 2022>, mild to tame mid range. Interesting design to hold & locate blade + machining and finish are excellent IMO. I like to shave with this razor with a shallow angle(riding the cap) gives me the better results + close and irritation free shave has been my conclusion.
Blade : GSB (3) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Brush : Yaqi "Viper" 24mm boar bristle knot. Very enjoyable boar brush to use for my shaving needs.
Soap : Ach Brito Lavanda cream. Very nice scented soap with some of the best lather qualities. Affordable and you get a lot IMO.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ach Brito Lavanda splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Sentinel 1.5mm with a GSB blade. Excellent combination of razor and blade this morning.

9/10. A slanted head always requires a bit more care than a conventional, closed comb one. But, if you pay it the proper respect, the results are often quite nice. In this case, the Major wound up w/a somewhat cleaner shave than usual under the jaw. Not perfect, but a bit smoother.
