Razor: Rex Envoy XL
Blade: Wilkinson Sword Germany, 2nd use
Brush: Yaqi Ocean
Bowl: Cayuen Dark Nebula Bowl
Preshave: Hot Shower & L’Occitane Verbena Shower Gel Soap
Soap: HC&C Tax Man
Aftershave: HC&C Tax Man
Balm: Whollykaw Bare Naked
Additional Care: Thayers Witch Hazel (Unscented)

A gorgeous shave today. The Envoy has amazingly low blade flex which is surprising given the blade isn’t clamped very close to the edge. The rigidity is achieved in a similar fashion to the Blackbird in that the blade is bent to create an angle where the force is transferred up into the blade and flex is minimized, although with a slightly different architecture. Whereas the Blackbird clamps closer to the top of the head, the Envoy clamps about halfway between the top of the cap and the edge, but with similar effect. I also think the solidity and shear mass of the head help to control blade flex. The net result is it works. The Envoy is incredibly sure-footed even in the trickiest spots like ATG below the nose. Tax Man is fast becoming one of my favorite soap/splash combos. BBS

Wishing you a peaceful day.

Soap: Cella red
Brush: Yaqi 24mm Timberwolf knot in Mysterious Space Handle
Bowl: Captain's Choice Heavyweight copper

Aftershave: Alum block; TOBS Tobacco Leaf Aftershave lotion

Results: DFS+
Score: 8/10
Points detracted because of some skin irritation along the jawline also felt the blade pulling a little bit (3rd use). Seems I slightly overhydrated my lather, it wasn't runny, but for some reason only created a very thin and transparent layer on my skin. Only did one pass under the chin to give my skin some extra time to heal.

Razor: Alpha Spirit
Blade: Schick Proline P-30 (2)
Soap: RazoRock Mudder Focker
Brush: AP Shave 24mm G5C
Bowl: Timeless
Post-Shave: RazoRock Mudder Focker Splash

Excellent inaugural shave with the Spirit, 10/10. This is one smooth and comfortable razor. Maybe not quite as close as a Vector shave, but still very efficient and damn good for an initial run.

ELP SHAVE

Three Days Whiskers

MUSIC:

Welcome Back My Friends to the Show That Never Ends – Ladies and Gentlemen Emerson Lake & Palmer, 1974.

A Grand, grand live album.

PRE-SHAVE:

- Hot Shower

- Proraso Pre-Shave Cream Cypress and Vetyver (IT)

BOWL: Costa Nova Fine Stoneware (PT)

SOAP: LEA Hard Soap (SP)

BRUSH: Kent BK12S Silvertex, 30 mm (GB) -

This is a hard soap destroyer. Good synthetic fibers. Doesn't hog lather as one could expect.

SR: Paradigm Diamondback 2020 (CND) -
I've always got fascinated with this tool. Extremely smooth, but capable of a magistral close work.

BLADE: ASP (RU) (3) -

Good match for the SR.

POST-SHAVE:

- 444 Alum-Block (PT):

Mild to medium feedback over the first couple of minutes.

- Fine Classic After Shave American Blend (US)

- La Toja After Shave Balm (SP):

Perhaps my favorite After Shave Balm.

THE SHAVE:

I've to give it a 10/10 in spite of two tiny weepers on neck, fruit of my blade-buffing XTG. While very smooth this Paradigm goes really close.

Prep: warm bath, Dove Sensitive bar face wash
Soap: Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic
Brush: Stirling Synthetic 2, 24MM
Razor: Rockwell 6C R4
Blade: Feather Hi Stainless
Post Shave: Thayers Cucumber WH & Aloe followed by Aqua Velva Ice Blue
Results: DFS, two passes WTG, 9/10.

I slightly over hydrated my lather today for the 6C. The first pass was a bit too slippery for the Rockwell and there was more stubble than usual left behind after the first pass. The 2nd pass and some buffing took care of the rest with no issues. I had been using my Henson Medium for a week prior to today and had just gotten into the habit of making thinner, slicker and more hydrated lathers, which the Henson seems to do best with. The 6C glides better than the Henson so it seems to prefer a slightly cushier and less hydrated lather. Will adjust for tomorrow’s shave. Still got an irritation free DFS with no nicks and very little aftershave sting, so all things considered it was still a very good shave.

soap: Ariana & Evans Asian Plum (sample)
brush: Oumo 27mm 2-band unsullied knot
razor: Blackland Blackbird titanium
blade: Lord Platinum
aftershave: Stirling Juniper Breeze

fragrance: PAA Briar

I had a great shave with Asian Plum soap by Ariana & Evans. I used my Captain's Choice copper bowl and the soap lathered all up quick. I got a lot of bubbles /foam, which I worked at longer. It was super slick and I didn't get any knicks. The smell light and pleasant. XTG and ATG. Efficient shave then a tremendous feeling of bracing from the aftershave.

Yesterday I used Proraso Green soap which was perfect.

Sometimes I forget how the quiet simple La Toja stick kicks it UP! Especially with this brush.
What a great lather and shave. No issues whatsoever, just a clean close and easy shave. Just what I needed.
