For today's shave I selected my latest shaving soap acquisition: Mastro Michè Revisited Rive Gauche Shaving Stick. This soap is rather soft, tallow-free and made with simple, quality ingredients. It is produced in Italy by TFS and provides a truly outstanding lather that is slick, thick and stable. The resulting shave is of course close and comfortable. And the fragrance, although not too pronounced, is simply magnificent. Well, being inspired by the superb YSL cologne it really couldn't be otherwise. Again, simply magnificent.

Bath Soap: Nesti Dante AMORINO SOAP rose bouquet - Italy

Shaving Brush: Simpson Chubby 1 Best - UK

Shaving Soap: Mastro Michè Revisited Rive Gauche Shaving Stick - Italy

Double Edge Razor: Gillette Ball End Tech - USA

Double Edge Blade: Gillette Perma-Sharp (1) - Russia

Aftershave: Proraso Lozione Dopobarba Rinfrescante - Italy

Cologne: Floris N°89 - UK

Evaluation: 10/10

Never heard of that shave soap, but, I'm going shopping! Rive Gauche was one of the greatest men's fragrances of all time. I use Fine American Blend aftershave, but, it pales in comparison.

Pre: Noxzema Classic Shave & Stirling Unscented Pre-Shave Bar
Razor: Merkur Progress @ 2.5
Blade: Personna Comfort Coated (1)
Soap: RR Dead Sea
Brush: RR 24mm BC Silvertip Plissoft
Bowl: Timeless
Post-Shave: RR Dead Sea Splash

Smooth and efficient throwback shave with the Progress, 9.5/10. Somewhere in the 3-4 range is where the magic is for me. The 2.5 shave was great, but not quite as close as I was shooting for.

This shaving stick is relatively new and being pretty soft it's unique, too.
The scent is neither strong nor long lasting, but it's definitely there and I do love it!

Razor: Rex Envoy XL
Blade: Wilkinson Sword Germany, 1st use
Brush: Wald A1
Bowl: Cayuen Dark Nebula Bowl
Preshave: Hot Shower & L’Occitane Verbena Shower Gel Soap
Soap: HC&C Ticket to Ride
Aftershave: HC&C Ticket to Ride
Balm: Stirling Unscented
Additional Care: Proraso Blue Preshave
Additional Care: Thayers Witch Hazel (Unscented)

I’m impressed with the Rex Envoy. It really has nailed the sweet spot of blade feel, which is high enough to feel efficient, and indeed be efficient, while not causing excessive irritation. The HC&C made a luscious lather and Ticket to Ride (based on YSL Y) smells great. BBS.

Wishing you a great weekend.

I lost my mojo today. Exceedingly close (too close, really) but lots of weepers. Much sting immediately post-shave but comfortable a few hours later.
