Same here, Dan! My first cruise two years ago was on the Mediterranean Sea, last year on the Caribbean and this June we are going on cruise directed towards the Norwegian fjords.
Oh, I would love to do that one! 🍻
My first wife was in the travel business so I got to accompany her on several cruises, ranging from Alaska to Istanbul. My current wife was dubious at first about going on ships but now she loves them.
Have fun, Marco. Tell the fjords I said hello! 👋

Razor: 1953 Gillette Super Speed

I used my birth year Super Speed this morning and got my typical great shave. I'd be hard pressed to find a better razor or blade in my arsenal.

Today is 03–30-2025 is # 89 of 2025.

Razor: $1.25 Faux Tech- From 7 Day Trail
Blade: Treet 7 Days - Platinum. DAY # 4 USEAGE.
Bowl:
N/A
Soap/Cream: Cremo - Refreshing Mint, smells is great.
Brush/Instrument: Fingers/Omega Boar
Extra Stuff: Witch Hazel

Shaved today using the old PIF Gifted, $1.25 Faux Tech- From 7 Day Trail as past 5or 6 days. Shave was three passes, with, across, & against the grain, using a BRAND NEW FRESH - Treet 7 Days - Platinum, chops down Beard like Sharp Knife Cutting Cold Butter, with slight Blade feel, easy as 1, 2, 3, Blade is Super Sharp, and, Efficient. Today was DAY # FOUR for using this Blade, came out of my Orphan Blade Ziplock. Don’t think I will ever stand in any line to rebuy this Blade, just better Blade that work better for me for me at same price point. Blade sent message today, it was loud and clear, TRASH ME, No longer working well. Four days was past useable limit, so the BLADE got TRASHEDafter USE.

Shave today was GOOD Shave but did not achieving perfection rating, would be 9.5+. Results were Good because I payed a lot of attention to Technique, reaped rewards, of DFS for doing so. I do not & never will chase BBS, do but still got great Shave. This is an Ultra Light Weight FAUX Razor with Handle over 4” Long, so it like have baseball bat in hand.

Using same old newly opened fresh Tube of Cremo - Refreshing Mint, Black Cap, opened a New Tube Today. Still working in the Cremo into my beard with my Omega Boar, it seems to helped getting Beard to stand up for closer shave. Working with Brush on Face don’t lather Cremo much, but seem to help raise Beard for Shaving off. Will comment on strength of scent after few days of use.

I am a Vintage Gillette Junkie, That is almost all I own, I can’t imagine much better results from a modern super razor. But my real deal Gillette Vintage Tech's weigh more, are better made, and last Shaves a tad better. FAUX Tech Knockoff did Dam Fine Shave IMHO.

La faulx head on a vestige handle, with some dr. bronners shaving cream I apply by hand. Still trying to work down my stash of creams till I'm left with just hard soaps. New blade in this, a mild kai. Finished with a dor dor dor of Clubman milk.
How does the Bronners soap perform? I picked up a tube of Lime about a month ago and havent tried it yet. I use their bar & liquid soaps regularly...especially in the summer, I think the Tea Tree helps keep the ticks off of me !

Pre Shave: Warm Shower, Stirling Baker Street Liquid Bath Soap, Stirling Unscented Pre Shave Soap
Razor: OliWorks Aluminum M3teorite on plate 1
Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome (5)
Soap/Cream: TOBS Jermyn Street Cream
Brush: Rudy Vey '24 B&B Group Buy Ivory Handled Muhle 23mm STF knot brush
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Thayers Unscented Witch Hazel, Nivea Unscented Post Shave Balm & Stirling's Barbershop AS
Rating: 10/10 A comfortable, efficient 3 pass BBS shave with no touch ups, weepers, cuts or irritation. An excellent shave.

I have mentioned over and over that nothing beats Konsul Xl in head shave. Slant and long handle play big role in achieving that slick bbs/mirror finish. Glad I came across likeminded individual. Even my beloved Taiga OC, that is a standard of its own when it comes to face shave, can’t outperform Konsul XL in head shave. For me 3-3.5 is a sweet spot and every time it’s a very smooth shave with no nicks-have to be extremely careful behind the ears though.
Truly is great head shave particularly ATG. I think the slant has something to do with it. Very efficient on the back of the head and neck where my stubble is thickest (bald on top). I've never had trouble getting a close shave on the sides but the stubble on the back is wiry and stiff and most razors skip or just don't mow through it as well. Of course being the back you can't see what you're doing and holding the perfect angle is more challenging.

Headshave and faceshave

Preshave: Hot towel and Proraso white pre shave lotion
Brush: Simpson Chubby 1 badger
Soap: Moon's Old School whipped up right outta the tub
Razor: PAA copper Ascension
Blade: Accuforge (1)
Shave: The copper Ascension is "twist adjustable" in the fact that you can loosen the handle a little to give the blade more aggression. I tried that ONCE with this razor and scraped off my suntan. Never again. The handle was tightened all the way down for this shave and the razor delivered. With the grain, across the grain, then a cleanup pass with a re-lather in between. Excellent performance from the Old School soap and the badger brush. Made each lathering a very pleasant experience.
Aftershave: Hot towel rinse. Then two splashes of CC bay rum.
Result: 8.5/10.

March 30, 2025 Sunday shave

Razor: Karve Overlander, stainless steel
Blade: Gillette Perma-Sharp (4)
Soap: Cella red
Brush: AP Shave Co. Deep Blue w/24mm G5C
Bowl: Captain's Choice copper
Aftershave: Old Spice Original

This is the last shave for March, then onward to Vintage April! Today's shave was pleasant and uneventful. The Overlander did a great job, along with the Perma-Sharp blade. The star of the shave was the Cella red soap, the lather was perfect. As I rub my face, I'll give this shave a 10/10.
