I am changing razors today. The next razor in my rotation is a Wolfman WR2 SS SB 1.05. I loaded a PolSilver Super Iridium blade in the razor. I usually use a Personna Medical Prep blade in the Wolfman, but the PolSilver did an excellent job. This is the fourth shave with the TSF Crema Purissima Per Barba. The soap continues to impress me. I was pleasantly surprised that the small T&H brush made sufficient lather for my multiple-pass face and head shave. It was a perfect shave. Have a great day, folks.

Today is 01-09-2025, Shave Report

Razor:
1956 Ball-End Tech
Blade: Personna Super, Day 4 use.
Soap/Cream: Cremo Classic Citrus (Secret Sent)
Bowl: N/A
Brush/Instrument: Fingers
Extra Stuff: Witch Hazel

Used my 1956 Ball-End Tech, IMHO is amazing Razor, this Razor was PIF thanks to @gpjoe.

Did 3 pass Shave Against, With, & Across the grain, with Personna Super, it was almost no blade feel, blade just glide like skating on ice, remove Beard with ease. See Blade lasting maybe 2-3 more days.

Shave was 9.9 not BBS, but DamFine Shave.

Used New Tube of Cremo Citrus, different smells but NO TRUE Citrus, goofy Cremo Smell. Not real in you face Citrus smell, think the Clara Peller the lady from Wendy’s Hamburger Commercial would be yelling, “Where the Citrus”. Because if it there, it not much Citrus smell.

Love my Old Vintage Gillette’s, good Razor’s, still working well enough to put a big smile on my face.

Cannot imagine getting a much better Shave with one a modern super premium razors. I am a Vintage Gillette Junkie. Color me HAPPY.

Thursday morning shave (rated 9.75/10) using:
  • Razor: Razorock Mamba 53 with Mühle black resin handle
  • Blade: 1966 L3 English Gillette Super Silver (4)
  • Brush: APShaveCo Angelic Harp G5C synth (superb, thank you @Guido75)
  • Pre-shave: Noxzema
  • Soap: Daveli Farms Sheep Fat Green Tea (Perfectly fine soap that hasn’t met my very high expectations)
  • Post shave: Thayer’s Coconut Witch Hazel followed by Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue splash and Duke Canon Ice Cold balm
PXL_20250109_145312054.jpg
I'm still homing in on the best technique for the Mamba 53. The razor seems to have a narrow window for shave angle with a slight bias toward riding the cap (at least compared to many other razors). I've always been able to get a BBS finish and today is no exception. At all times, however, the razor feels quite mild and safe. I also find it to be very nimble under my nose. One-point deduction on the efficiency scale for having to work extra to achieve BBS.

I used the black resin handle from my Mühle R89 because it is lighter than any of my Razorock handles and I wanted to experiment with balance. I did like the head forward balance that resulted.

The splash and balm were late 2024 purchases as insurance against my neurotic worry about running out of post-shave software during GRUYERE 2025. They are both provide a very pleasant menthol chill. They also both soak into my face completely leaving a very light touch behind. I’m happy to have them in my shave den.

My shave scoring log is found HERE.

Happy shaves everyone :badger:

Razor : Yaqi Tile razor head 316 SS with a Yaqi Brass coated with Nickel coated handle. Mfg 2021> mild to tame mid range. Excellent machining and the design is easy for finding correct angle to shave with. Similar to Henson razors in design but SS.
Blade : Gillette Polsilver SI (1) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Yaqi Black Pearl, nicely scented soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Tail coats" 24mm G4 synthetic. Great brush for my general shave needs.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Yaqi Black Pearl with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : Dial 9.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=:a17: Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Tile razor with a Polsilver SI.
