Prep: hot shower, PAA Ice Cube 2.0 face wash

Soap: MdC Vetyver
Brush: Paladin 2025 B&B Team, 26mm Select Badger

FACE LATHER

Razor: Timeless Titanium .68 (changed to SB after photo was taken)
Blade: Lab Blue (3)

TWO PASS SHAVE

Post Shave: cold water rinse

Aftershave: Fine Snake Bite
Fragrance: Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum

What a fantastic shave! Switche away from the OC due to morning tenderness the last couple of days, and what an improvement! Two passes (WTG, ATG) gave me a very comfortable DFS+/near BBS. Of course, the amazing MdC probably helped considerably.

This was my first use of the Team brush... Ken @ChiefBroom, you did an amazing job. This is a beautiful brush and the knot is perfect in every way for face lathering.

Sunday Schick shave, January 5th 2025

Razor : Schick E2 injector Canadian variant. Mfg 1930's-40's, mid range. Well made to last with a little care are my thoughts on this razor.
Blade : Schick injector (5) sharp and smooth with great longevity. Nice blade around 3-6 shaves count it seems for myself.
Soap : Ogallala Bayrum & Sandalwood, nice Bayrum with some clove with the Sandalwood nicely making a scent that I enjoy + excellent lather qualities when brush loading or using puck like a shave stick gives some great lather for 2 1/2 passes.
Brush : Yaqi"Sagrada Familia"
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : witch hazel soap residual beard cleanse+ Ogallala Bayrum & sandalwood :001_wub: + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : Dial 10 stellar.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=:a17: Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Schick E2 with a Schick blade.

Have some great shaves!

Pardon the wordy post of my first shave with my new Mamba 53 (shave rated 9.75/10):
  • Razor: Razorock Mamba 53 with Super Knurl handle
  • Blade: Derby Premium with Chrome-Ceramic-Platinum-Tungsten and Polymer coated edges (2)
  • Brush: Yaqi Sagrada Familia Tuxedo Synth (very nice)
  • Pre-shave: Noxzema
  • Soap: Dutch Van der Lovett Grey (top notch everyday soap)
  • Post shave: Thayer’s Coconut Witch Hazel followed by Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood splash and Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood balm

I used my brand new Mamba 53 for the first time, and I loved it. The razor glides in a buttery smooth way over my face with virtually no blade feel. Yet, two passes plus attentive touch ups yielded a BBS finish without any hint of irritation with one small exception. I mistakenly went ATG on the first pass on my neck (my most sensitive area). I had one small nibble next to my Adam's apple as a result. Normally, an ATG first pass on my neck would create havoc. No havoc with the Mamba 53.

I also really loved how well the razor performed under my nose. This area is very difficult for me because of the tight corners and the need to reach whiskers that grow right inside the opening of my nostrils immediately next to my columella.

I snuck my purchase of the Mamba 53 under the 2025 GRUYERE wire based on two things. First, I have really liked my Lupo 72, which arrived as a Christmas gift. Second, I had recommended the Mamba 53 to my stepfather purely based on my other experiences with Razorock products and the reviews on B&B. He was looking for a mild DE razor that he could use on autopilot. I suspected that the Mamba 53 would work, and he confirmed my suspicions. I’m thrilled with the Mamba 53 and the Lupo 72.

Today was also my experience using the Yaqi Sagrada Familia brush (another Christmas day arrival). The brush is interesting among my synths because it has a fairly stiff backbone but also soft tips. The brush did a great job loading soap from a mug and building lather on my face, my preferred method. The beautiful handle is a little small for my taste, but that won’t stop me from putting it in my rotation.

My shave scoring log is found HERE.

Happy shaves everyone :badger:

I'm a Lumberjack.
Proraso preshave. T&S Dark II, evo long handle brush. CG L2. Dimple handle. Pinaud vanilla aftershave with glycerin and menthol.

It should be the last use of the blade at 4. Orange tuck but can’t remember the name.

That CG is a nice razor. Went slow. Was smooth. I hate giving myself a 10 but it was a great shave all around.
