Razor : Ever-Ready 1912( England Mfg variant). Mfg 1936-53, (exact date unknown), mild to tame mid range. Used a RIGS shim under modern spline to blade load secure to blade stops better. Well made for the thicker splined blades for that era. Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(5) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Yaqi Black Pearl, Very unique cologne scented soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Lucky casinos" 26mm timber wolf knot. Very nice luxury face feel.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave :Yaqi Black pearl splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : Dial 10 stellar.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=:a17: Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Ever-Ready 1912 variant with a coated gem blade.

November 11, 2024 Monday shave

Razor: Yates Precision 921 Medium
Blade: Gillette Perma-Sharp (1)
Soap: Barrister and Mann Le Grand Chypre
Brush: Paladin Tut re-knotted with Muhle STF XL
Bowl: Captain's Choice Heavyweight copper
Aftershave: Aqua Velva Ice Blue

This was a three pass shave (WTG, XTG, ATG) of two days stubble. The Yates 921 is proving to be a great razor. Also used was B&M Le Grand Chypre and the Rudy Vey STF XL brush; truly great. I couldn't ask for a better shave today.
10/10

Wade and Butcher straight with a nice uncertified @Eben Stone edge for 3 passes, followed by 3 passes with a Chinese KCG in the Blackland Bronze Blackbird.

TRC bowl, SOC Finest Badger Cherry brush, Vintage Clubman Reserve, and some Seaforth Black Watch Highland that @Eben Stone sent with the straight.

This is a rich and dense soap with a nice bold cologne fragrance that is probably oriental aromatic, jasmine, oakmoss, Sandalwood, birch tar, and incense. The heavy tallow lather is slick and wet. Performance is quite good. I prefer a milder fragrance.

9/10 fantastic BBS.

Hello friends

The sun is shining again. Today, after weeks of small betrayals, I returned to my beloved, my one and only one, Gillette Silver Blue (1). How wonderful it is to see her again. In this magical moment, I was joined by special partners, MdC Original, Semogue SOC Mistura, Rocca R94 and Ach. Brito Lavanda. What a magnificent start to the week, dear friends!

With us, none other than John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman.

Rating: 10

Have a nice week and great shaves!

My third shave with the Silver Star and another impressive outing. Still nice and sharp and still nice and smooth.
It was also my final shave with the Captain Fawcettes soap in my current rotation. It was another pleasant lather but I still don't think it's worth the price tag compared to D.R. Harris (the same base).

The new Permasharp blade felt sharper and a little less smooth than the Wilkinson Sword blades I’d tried recently. I got a closer shave as a result but a little more zing from the aftershave! This soap is very interesting. Compared to others in Omnibus, it is insanely thirsty and wants to remain a heavy paste until it finally gains some volume. I will try using less soap tomorrow and see if that helps me hit the ratio sooner. It’s a nice scent but the cooling from the oils is a little mild; I think Stirling’s Eucalyptus Mint was cooler. I remember that soap having a slightly different texture than others in the Stirling beef tallow base, which makes me wonder if these particular oils influence the lather.

9.5/10.

10 / 10 Dolphin skin smooth

pre: hot shower
soap: Barrister and Mann - Spice
razor: Blackland Blackbird titanium
blade: Gillette 7 O’Clock Permasharp Stainless (8)
brush: Oumo Unsullied 27mm bulb
splash: Stirling Soap - Juniper Breeze

I took my time shaving once I had my good coffee. I listened to White Stripes on my speaker. 2 passes , WTG then ATG. Blade buffed on jaw & neck. No knicks. Burning relief I love Stirling splashes. What scent is next to go with Spice?
