This is the second shave with the Karve Razor and PolSilver Super Iridium blade. The shave was close and smooth – BBS – without any touchups. The next brush in my rotation is the B&B 2023 Contributor’s Brush by Paladin. This bush excels at making lather. Today the brush was a bit wetter than usual, and the result was a much better lather. The Monsavon soap is on its 15th use. A nice BBS shave. Have a wonderful day and week, folks.

Lockback

Dull yet interesting
Preshave: Hot shower
Soap/Shave cream: Stirling Soap Hot Apple Cider
Brush: Jequil & Corenveo 24mm
Razor: 1953 Gillette Super Speed
Blade: Gillette Nacet (2)
Post shave: Pinaud Clubman
Rating: 10/10

So 1.5 years ago as I approached my landmark 70th birthday, I was searching for a Y2 (second quarter of 1953) Gillette Super Speed. I found two online: looked like it had been buried in peat moss for 70 years, the other was pristine with its original case but cost roughly the Gross National Product of a small country. I did find a 1955 Blue Tip that coincided with my younger brother's birthday but not a '53 I liked but out of nowhere received a PM from a member here offering me a Y2 he'd found at an antique store. He sent it to me, refusing any payment. It looks like it could be packaged as new to this day, absolutely pristine, mechanically perfect.
I haven't revealed his name until now: it was @Hair Scraper. It was a marvelous act of kindness from a stranger. Thanks, Bill!
I shaved with it this morning and once again was blown away by what a great razor it is.
Simply stunning.

A SHAVE OF FIRSTS

Today's shave consisted of some new items for me. First is the Oliworks M3teorite razor, then the Oumo ST-2 brush, Dorco Prime blade and a new bowl, which I have reviewed a short time ago, the NortonCustomDesign Shave Bowl on Etsy.
The M3teorite I received is a blue cerakote. I used the medium plate to start with and will test the mild and aggressive plates soon. The razor is an absolute HOME RUN. The weight, balance, smoothness and efficiency are superb. I will post a review on a different thread. The brush contains the new ST-2 knot by Oumo. It is an exceptionally soft brush. It built a lather easily, I have already posted a review on this on the Oumo ST-2 test knot thread. The Dorco Prime blade was smooth and sharp, just an excellent blade. With all the new items, I received an excellent shave in spite of some face irritation from the other day. Today was a 2 pass shave with 2 days growth. WTG/ATG.
**PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PICTURE OF THE RAZOR IS MY FAULT. THERE ARE NO BLEMISHES OR SCRATCHES OR CHIPS ON IT.

PRE: PRORASO GREEN
BLADE: DORCO PRIME
RAZOR: OLIWORKS M3TEORITE - medium plate
BOWL: NORTONCUSTOMDESIGN
SOAP: SV OPUNTIA
BRUSH: OUMO LIGHTHOUSE ST-2 25MM
POST: LATHER WASH, ALUM, WITCH HAZEL
A/S: SV OPUNTIA

SCORE: 9/10

Sir, humbleness is a virtue to be proud of, not many have it and what really identifies the True Gentleman. The refined way you speak classify you as one of the few. No matter how rich a person is, the true richness lies in his heart and soul.
That’s very kind of you, Marco. Over the years, I’ve combined slumming it with a bag of hot chestnuts down Petticoat Lane with dining and shopping at some of London’s finest, and I’ve been greeted with a handshake or even a hug at many of them.
I have some fond memories of an England long gone.

Have some great shaves!

Marco, hello my good friend, I hope you've been well. The MdC Rose is a new acquisition for me & I've used it a dozen times, or so. It is my first rose-scented soap after having wanted one for a few years. I was recently gifted the jar of Rose from a fellow B & B gentleman. We both know the superb performance of MdC, it is one of my top soaps, particularly the Fougere & Agrumes. The MdC Rose is a soft scent that is light, powdery, & rose-perfumed with the MdC soap scent underlying it. The scent may have grown on me since I started using it, but I like it quite a bit. I'll use it for a few more weeks before I know for certain, but I think the Rose is going to be a superb addition to my small stable of soaps. May I send you a sample?

Just curious how would you rank your preference among your MdC soaps Fougere, Agrumes & Rose. I think you had original too?
