PETTY SHAVE

Two Days Whiskers

MUSIC: Damn The Torpedoes by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, 1979.

PRE-SHAVE:

- Hot Shower

- Proraso Crema Pre Barba Rinfrescante (IT)

BOWL: Aluminium (PT)

SOAP: Lea Cream (SP)

BRUSH : Fine Angel Hair 'STOUT' Black & Yellow, 24 mm (US)

SR: Timeless Bronze 0.78 OC (US) -

Heavy and Agressive. Light touch always. Very similar feeling gaven by the R 41.

BLADE: Voskhod (RU) (1) -

It was a good choice for this razor. It tames it a bit.

POST-SHAVE:

- 444 Alum-Block (PT) - Strong feedback over the first couple of minutes.

- Fine Classic After Shave American Blend (US)

- Cosmia Men Afters have Balm (FR)

THE SHAVE: 9.75/10 -

Very good overall, but the Timeless 0.78 OC agressiveness it's not directly proportional to its efficiency. Sure it gives an excellent first pass yet it's in the details department that needs more work.

1st Pass: All WTG.

2nd Pass: All ATG except on Mustache and Chin Areas where I went XTG from West to East.

Some light touch-ups ATG on Neck.

Razor: Rigarazor with Barber’s Notch
Hone: Dan’s Translucent Ark
Soap: Martin de Candre Fougere
Aftershave: Proraso Green Splash

An all European line up for this morning’s shave.

The Plusson makes great lather. It has some scritch but feels excellent on my face.

MDC lather is great.

The Rigarazor made short work of my whiskers without any trouble.

A very easy and relaxing shave. A great way to start a day of briefings (aaaggghhhh, I can just see the inane questions). It will be the highlight of my day until I’m hanging out with my daughter later. 9.5/10.

Morning Shave - 06/04/24
Razor:
Assured For Men 3-piece
Blade: Assured For Men Blade (2)
Soap: BSS #1
Brush: RazoRock Hive 24
Aftershave: Skin Bracer
Shave Comfort: 8/10 (Weeper)
Shave Quality: 9/10 (DFS+)
Shave Rating: 8.5/10
Well that was a very quick lived blade! Super tuggy, but I managed to still get a very respectable shave from it. I really do not have any irritation, but the shave was so rough that I downgraded the shave comfort. Razor is bouncing all over the place while shaving. I think it calls for a new blade next shave. Preshave: Hot shower
Soap/Shave cream: Stirling Soap Barbershop
Brush: Jequil & Corenveo 24mm
Razor: Razorock Game Changer 68-P
Blade: Gillette Nacet (1)
Post shave: Pinaud Clubman
Rating: 10/10

Another wonderful shave. This sample of Stirling's Barbershop soap was my gateway into the world of different soap scents and I loved this particular one so much I bought a tub of it. To this day, it remains my favorite soap.

Soap: House of Mammoth Tobacconist
Brush: Rudy Vey / MÜHLE Extra Large Silvertip Fiber
Razor: Atelier Durdan La Faulx ++
Blade: Feather Professional (12)

Rating: 10 / 10 - Seems like a broken record with getting a 10/10 shave everyday, but the La Faulx ++ just delivers great shaves.

I've been enjoying the Gillette Cool Wave splash recently.

Karve Bison | Personna Comfort Coated (6th Use) | Stirling Synthetic Pro-Handle 26mm | Noble Otter Lonestar | Floid The Genuine AS | Zingari Man Unscented ASB

Face feels smooth and refreshed. But my 2-pass shave (WTG and ATG) didn't go without a couple of hiccups. I somehow managed to nick my lip right out of the gate. Luckily, it wasn't bad and seemed to disappear before the shave ended. I also got a mild burn from the Floid aftershave. Which, BTW, goes very well with Noble Otter Lonestar -- a great scent compliment. Anyway I'm going to rate this shave a NINE @99% BBS.
