That was right there on the bottom shelf next to the Benchmark offerings. The EW BIB is a more flavorful bottle.

Last night it was Plantation dark rum (actually I thought they had changed the name to "Planteray," which seems off putting to me for some reason!) lime, Angostura bitters, a scorched cinnamon stick, and Mexican Coca Cola. I had been thinking that I liked Ron Abuelo rum best in a rum and coke, but I think I like this one even more. A blend of Barbados and Jamaica rum, apparently the latter with a fair amount of time on wood.

Last Friday I went to the branch of Wine Connection near my former office early, as I was meeting the missus for dinner at a yakitori restaurant at 6pm. My ex-colleague and I would repair there every Friday at 4pm and have a couple of bottles of this while putting the world to rights. It is a Provence rose and very drinkable...

Is there a cheaper Full Proof bottle? Mixing might be it’s best use. Makes a decent Old Fashioned after riding, prior to dinner.

It’s crazy cheap. It won’t be in the Derby Day Julep, though.

Dow’s 10 year Tawny out last evening. This afternoon I pulled the bottle of Dow’s 20 to compare, because I couldn’t discern a difference last night. And I couldn’t see much of a difference today. I might have received a pour of 20 last night. Maybe a true side by side is in order.

I also poured a sip of Dow’s Fine Tawny today, but the difference in color and palate there is clear.

This is the run of the mill Benchmark. Pretty flavorless. I don’t think it would be any better neat.
