This CW Cranwell is still my favorite pilot watch. I just wish they offered it in a SW210 handwinder option rather than the SW200 auto.

But as former Infantry, I still lust after their Sandhurst W10 tribute. :001_wub:

I'm currently torn between the CW Sandhurst vs the Archimede Flieger 200.

I'm loving the simplicity of that dial.

What‘s your budget? Stowa has some nice SW210 manual wind Flieger.

I'd say 1000 USD or a wee bit over for a suitable choice. Laco and Stowa were serious options but the killjoy is that 48.6mm lug to lug. With my 16.5cm wrist, I can barely pull off the 47mm width on my Dekla 40 type B and I don't want to drop back to a 36mm case on a pilot watch.

My CW is 38mm with maybe 44.5 L2L and wears so comfortably. The Archimede Flieger is 39 case but only 45mm L2L, the same as their Pilot 39 Type A:

Almost 4mm less L2L is a huge difference on my wrist. I understand Stowa and Laco have the whole WW2 heritage thing going on but that's not a deal breaker for me. Archimede has their own 100yr heritage from Karl Ickler, still operated by the same family (4th gen). Pretty much a vertical manufacturer known for their quality cases and in-house production, thermal blued hands, etc.
You probably already know all that so I'm likely just convincing myself it would be the better and more wearable choice. ;)

One of the coolest watches I’ve seen in quite awhile!!!
Thank you. I've had a hard time identifying the exact model. Obviously a Waltham, from the transitional period, box car style offset with wire lugs. I found the red cross from Waltham 1916 catered to doctors but not the offset box car style. In the future there will be a trip to the library to see if I find an exact match.
