"Got Shoes?"
I really enjoy the Seiko Alpinist. And when I finally got one, I knew that I would replace the plasticky, stiff strap that came with it

The day it arrived, I immediately replaced it with the already waiting two-tone jubilee bracelet from Strapcode. This is the setup that I always envisioned for this watch and it did not disappoint. It looks awesome.

But here’s the thing. While I really love the way the bracelet and the dial connect and the way this combo really pops… it also makes the watch a bit dressier and adds a bit of bling.

Now that’s not a bad thing but I found that I had to be in that kinda mood in order to wear it. These days, I’m not usually doing a “dressier” vibe and I’m not a “bling” type of person, although this bracelet could be regarded as somewhat more of a subdued type of bling.

This ultimately led to me looking at this watch more than I was wearing this watch.

And this exclusion will not stand, man…

So I ordered this bourbon calfskin leather strap from Uncle Straps and it arrived yesterday.

Now, with a more toned-down look, this Alpinist will get the wrist time it deserves. :thumbup1:

And when the “bling-thing” strikes me, I’ll put the Alpinist back on the two-tone bracelet because let’s face it… it does look bad-***.

I like it even with the plasticky stiff strap. And you are right, with the bracelet it literally screams: "Bling!".
Love the final choice of strap! 🍻

I do like the style/look of the original strap but it was somewhat uncomfortable. The leather on the Uncle strap was much softer and supple. I’m the Seiko strap would break-in over time but hey… who’s got that kinda time? 😀

I believe all croc grain bands are stiffer. At least in my experience.
