very cool - BOXES of NOS WWII brushes

I handled one of these brushes in an antique store today. The bristle were really stiff and coarse. It would be like lathering up with a whisk broom.
 
My dad has one of these brushes sitting in the cabinet. I have no idea where he got it and why he has it. He does not wet shave and he was not in WW2. :) The brush is made of horse hair as well.
 
I honestly don't see the real value of these versus any other brush of that time period. That don't have that really "WOW" factor to me. I might be missing something. but I dont see any reference to the US military on them. Im sure that they were sold in Post Exchange and the seller is being honest

Like anything else, the value would be in that they're different!

I think the only value would be if they were from the 1940's. I'm serious, lathering with one of these would not be a pleasant experience.
 
i think the handle is kinda neat. stick a nice, short, scrubby best badger knot in there and have yourself a real workhorse, utilitarian brush.
