Trumper, re-formulation SOLVED!

There is a big thread on B&B that even discusses the batch numbers which indicate whether the puck will perform or not.

maybe that's why I'm so confused. My puck is great. As good as any tallow soap I have.

This is the most bizarre thread ever.....

I love Trumpers soap. I have absolutely no problem making a great lather, and getting a great shave. I don't understand the Trumper hate.

However I have never tried it with a soft brush. I'm a boar man, but I don't remember having any problems making a great lather with my cheapo badger brush.

It's not "hate" but rather frustration.

This is not entirely my unique finding, but more of a page stolen from the Williams lathering playbook.

So when I understand you correctly you use a proven Williams method to get some use out of your Trumpers but at the same time you think using Williams is a waste of time?

Thanks for posting your observations an recommendations.

I have always been of the opinion that you CANNOT load too much soap and that a bigger brush will get more soap than a smaller soap so I use my biggest brushes on my hardest to load/lather soaps and this seems to work for me

You are free to like what you want, no issues there for me. I just read what you wrote in the Williams thread today and later saw this thread
and looking at the posts combined made me, let's say, naughty (very fitting this time of the year I think) and just couldn't help myself.
