Travelling with a Sensor Excel

Gillette Sensor Classic razor (not Excel) is ready to bite the dust . . . not able to find the razor anywhere are there compatible handles to be found at a reasonable price?

I use Sensor Excel handles with plain Sensor cartridges. They are fully interchangeable. I don't get as close of a shave from an Excel.

Bought one of these on my way home from work. Haven't used one in around 10 years and wanted to try one again for: travelling, to see how much better the shave will be now I know a lot more about shave prep than 10 years ago.

Edit; had a shave earlier on and I have to say it was a great shave. 2 passes, one with and the second across the grain.

I used an original model Sensor for a good part of the 1990s. I liked it a lot back then, and still do. When I travel, I often carry Sensor disposables instead of DEs and blades - for convenience and to avoid airline security hassles.

My late father must have liked the Sensor too. I was at my mother's house a few weeks ago, and found this in his bathroom cabinet, along with a nice supply of Brut, Aqua Velva, and Old Spice lotions. Of course, I can't open it - from what I've seen online, unopened original Sensors are selling for $50 and more!

I ordered a new Sensor Excel handle with 3 cartridges from an eBay seller on Sunday. It should arrive in a couple of days. $9.99 shipped seems like a pretty good deal to me. Here's link:

As others have mentioned, all Sensor blades will fit all Sensor handles. There are plenty of Sensor blade configurations to choose from on eBay, including the original two-blade version, Sensor Excel, and Sensor 3.

I miss Gillette Sensor... it's my first razor... my first shave in life.

Oh boy.... Sensor and Sensor Excel becoming obsolete now. Apparently you need a razor with five blades, batteries and buttons to get a proper shave in our days. Modern men. How pathetic.

Gillette has not dropped any of their cartridge razors, in fact the Sensor has just gotten a make over for the developing world:
