Thinking of 'Starting Over'

my thoughts,

hold the hair (like if you would initally squeeze lather out of the breech) so that its dense/compacted when charging the brush.

and maybe you don't have enough water? are you face lathering or using a bowl? i found the smaller knot seemed to be easier for me to learn how to lather (the Shave Moisture brush ~ $10 was great to learn on (and use). My Vulfix 41 (~30mm knot) took a lot more trial and error to get a nice lather... The EJ BBB looks bigger than then Shea Moisture.

the EJ89 head is very smooth too me. i would try an inexpensive superspeed. It gave me a great tight shave and had a different skin feel to it. it's lighter but the face feel is good.

As i see it, you won't have a hard time getting rid of kit you don't like here. just price it appropriately.

:thumbup1: THIS!

I don't care how floppy your brush is, you can make it work for soaps if you really want to. A three-finger pinch grip (thumb, index, and middle for me) on the bristles while loading your brush will make your badger work fine for soaps.

Or you could always just go get a quality boar brush for your soaps and keep your badger for creams and use that money you saved by buying a boar to buy creams for your newly re-purposed creams brush . If you're worried about scratchiness the tips soften over time or you can break it in faster with a cheapo puck of Williams or something. Synthetic usually isn't too expensive either.
