Guilty. Although mine lives right next to the purple Hayashi in the case so it was at the forefront of my mind anyway.Did you see @silverlifter using a Rigarazor for his SOTD and get inspired?

This is the second time this week you've mentioned Filarmonicas, Thom. Do you have something you want to share with the class? All them Fili 13s and 14s convinced me Spain exists

I don't feel one bit bad about it either! Although I'm sorry the edge was disappointing. Mine was really great (until I dinged it on my glasses). But it took a nice edge after that even with my middling honing skills.Other way around: Matt is one of the people that forced me into buying a Riga! His constant taunting in that thread is what pushed me over the edge...

Beautiful work. Sounds like a lovely holiday!Thank you, sir!
One of my kids spent the better part of today working on a cute miniature witchy potion shop kit. Not quite the level of Mrs. @thombrogan but pretty good for a first time. Pics are out of order but whatever.

And the oldest and I watched "Christmas Vacation" and the youngers and I just finished the original "How to Train Your Dragon." All in all a wonderful day together.
We like to call it "The People's Republic of New York".Lots of swanky razors displayed in the USA and New Zealand and I’m happy to have an internet connection to view ‘em.
All them Fili 13s and 14s convinced me Spain exists. The lady who fostered my family’s cat before it went to live with us was partially of Baltic descent, so I had evidence Latvia was real before even seeing Rigarazors.
Off to look at some old Union Spike razors on the ‘Bay to see if there ever was a state of New York.
If you haven't used a Fatip, just make sure you align the blade before tightening it down (the diameter of the posts is less than the holes on the blade), so the blade will wiggle all over before it's tightened! My GS and my Fatip 1.0 arrived. Mentioned in another thread that the GS is quite notably heavy compared to the regular. Will be curious how I like the shave. I loaded a blade into both razors and compared them to my existing R41 and Fatip. Blade reveal is pretty much the same on the Mühles but they look subtly different in a way I can't quite put my finger on. The Fatips are... well, see for yourself. I suppose I should try the Fatip tomorrow for Fatip Friday but honestly I'm kind of nervous, LOL.

The fellow I bought it from put some kind of bushings/ sleeves in it to help with that, so pretty much all you have to do is push the blade tab lengthwise so the blade hits the posts while it's tightening down. It passed the eyeball test, anyway. If you haven't used a Fatip, just make sure you align the blade before tightening it down (the diameter of the posts is less than the holes on the blade), so the blade will wiggle all over before it's tightened!
Excellent shave as long as the blade is straight!!
In a word?Is this because of firearms being stripped from most law-abiding citizens whilst they try to survive regulatory labyrinths of all things private and public while oligarchs continue to make their rent-seeking actions more crippling or because of the Yankees?

First time I hear of some mod for the Fatip's.
Can you please post a close up at some point of that modification?
That's awesome!
What did you use for the bushings? The bushings in the plate make it so the cap lines up perfectly with the plate every time. The V1 cap has narrower pins than the V2 cap so the cap could be misaligned with the plate in addition to the blade being misaligned. The shims make the cap align with the plate correctly. Then by pushing on the tab on one end, the diamond shape in the blade centers on the round pin and aligns the blade to the cap. Hold pressure on the tab while you tighten it down. Voila!

Send your idea to Fatip along with a bill!I used electrical shrink sleeve. Originally I had the sleeve over the posts to make the posts larger diameter for the same snug fit but the blade would tend to catch and grab on the sleeve when you were taking the blade off and I felt like it was a risk of cutting yourself in the wee hours of the morning before you've had coffee -- so I glued the tubes into the plate and then took a tapered reamer and sized them. Without the reamer you could still push the cap in but it was tight and difficult to pull the cap off again (nothing to grab onto and with a sharp blade in there I wanted to make it easy).
I sent some sleeves to a YouTuber who had complained about his Fatip alignment and he made a video and damn near cut his fingers on camera while taking the blade off - so that's what made me switch to putting the sleeve in the plate instead.
The Fatip 1.0 has so much play between the pins and the plate that I used the electrical sleeve which is rather thick stuff. My slant 37c is also sloppy but not nearly so much. So I made sleeves for the 37c but used very thin copper foil and got a perfect aligning 37c! (the copper foil is same stuff I use to shield electric guitar control cavities).
