What's new

the Rocnel Sailor thread

PayPal is no longer available in Turkey in recent year. The payment system Rocnel currently use is just terrible. when you checkout, it will take all the credit card information and then redirect to iyzico to do final order. in the meantime, you will get a notification from your credit card company for approval. Once you authorize the credit purchase and immediately, iyzico will fail the transaction. I've tried all three major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard and AMX. This has never happened to me before now.

PayPal has no longer operated in Turkey since 2017
Never had problems paying with cards via iyzico, you have to contact your bank there could be problems and if so contact Murat

I had the same problem, three cards were declined. Called my bank and they approved the buy and now all is good. Now I just have to wait 🙈

Does anyone have any idea on how to now make a successful purchase on Rocnel's website?
I've previously bought two Elite's and never had any problems.
In the last 2 days I've tried about a dozen times with multiple credit cards and it continuously says "payment failed".
Called my credit card issuers and it's not a problem on my end. Matter of fact, they all say that they see nothing.
They told me that they would at least see failed transactions!
I tried 3 credit cards, tried paying in USD, Euros & Lira's and tried paying straight with the cards and also tried going through their payment processor (iyzico).
How frustrating!
Any ideas?
I emailed Murat and haven't heard back!

Fumbling about.

The last time I tried to purchase from Murat I was unable to do so. That was a good many months ago. Murat was aware of the problem, and couldn't have been better about it. In fact, he sent me a complimentary razor, the bronze Elite, just to be nice about the problem. So I have the excellent Elite and the excellent 2021 MC Sailor. Of course the Sailor was purchased years ago; I wired money with Western Union to make that purchase. Somewhere I've posted the details of that adventure including how to do it without paying Western Union too much money.

I hope this problem is solved soon. I'm sure Murat joins in that sentiment. He makes great razors. I believe he's a very good guy.

Happy shaves,

Jim

Thanks for the info!
I've been back and forth with him and he keeps saying that it's some issue with some 3D payment verification
thing on our end.
I've explained to him that the problem is 100% on his end!
Why?
When I submit the transactions where it says payment failed, the transactions (I've tried quite a few times already with multiple credit cards) will not even register with my banks. I contacted my credit card providers including AMEX and they told me that they all see zero records of anything. Meaning, even if the payments would have declined, they would at a minimum show a record of that. They don't!
I've tried entering the credit cards as an individual transaction (without using the Iyzico payment system)
and have tried with their Iyzico payment portal and they all fail.
That means that his website & payment processor isn't communicating and that's the problem. It's not on our end!
If the 3D verification thing were the issue, at least one of my credit cards would have gotten through.
I've just now fully explained all this (again) and we'll see what he says. I've also mentioned an alternate
payment method like Western Union but he didn't respond with accepting that.
And as I've mentioned before, I've bought twice from him last year (same credit cards) and have never had this issue.
Bottom line is that as of now his payment system is broken!
We'll see what happens!

I'd think this is impacting other sales, too, and creating huge problems for his business.

Hope it gets worked out without more hassle.

Happy shaves,

Yep, and I told him that I'm certain that he must be currently having issues with any USA sales.
He just sent me a special link that goes direct to the payment processor while bypassing his website.
The result: "Payment failed" again!
I did it 3 times using a Visa, MC, Amex and nothing. The same result!
And again, none of my banks show that any transactions have been transmitted.
I've been reading about people having issues (for the last couple of years) with that payment processing.
Turkiye should get on board and fix whatever they need to fix in order to get business going as it should.
i.e., No Paypal because all transactions have to be completed on servers that are located in Turkiye!
We can see how well that's working out!!
Stuff like that wouldn't fly here and they'd be out of business (the payment processor) in a month!

Marketing with Turkey is not only a problem for those who are Americans, marketing with the rest of Europe is also a problem

Yes, there are often problems purchasing products
Try contacting your credit card company
I've bought twice previously from Rocnel and had no issues.
It ain't my credit card companies that need to be reached as they won't be able to do anything.
It's Rocnel's payment provider that needs to fix whatever is broken so payments can go actually go through.
If you read my first posts about the issue, you can see that I've already tried several different credit cards with the same results and did contact my providers to see what's happening.
None of them saw any transaction records which means that Rocnel's payment system is
the cause.
