You can't go wrong with Mel BrooksMy wife asked me to select a couple of movies and knowing she likes comedies I chose National Lampoon's Vacation from 1983, along with the sequel National Lampoon's European Vacation from 1985. To be honest neither were anything like as funny as I remember them and my wife did not appreciate the occasional smutty humour. Either the films have not aged well, or I have not aged well, probably the latter - my wife of course remains ageless. It is interesting to me that after many years some films are not as good as I remember them, some every bit as good, and some way better. I wonder what differentiates them - something for me to think about
Young Frankenstein
Spaceballs
Blazing Saddles
Dracula, Dead and Loving It
Robin Hood, Men in Tights
