the $15 GOAT HAIR BRUSH .....

There are a few goat hair brushes around some over $100 and this cheap $15 brush I took a chance on . Unbranded . Decent real wood handle . Guessing a 19" knot that is semi dense . It actually stirred up a nice lather . Application was good . Lost about 8 hairs indicating poor glue or glueing technique . A few more shaves will tell if it's an ongoing problem . As for the goat hair itself I would say it's closer to boar hair with a little softer feel .

They seem to still sell these, but I don’t think they actually make them looking at their website. Current pics are all white vs. your dyed version.

I’m a little skeptical that it is goat. Sure looks like boar hair vs goats I have been around.

@malocchio - do you think it is actually different than boar, or is it possible that it is boar and the sellers don’t really know?

Looks like a boar to me as well.
I did remember there was a thread about goat hair in brushes many years ago, and I found it. The mixed brush was extremely floppy and soft, and I always thought that Goat is a soft hair:
