Try to clean the steel before honing them, unless you're happy with their current condition...

The Redimp would worry me a bit because of the rust near the edge but good blades to practice with!

I'm sanding and polishing them both before honing. Going from 150 on up.

The Redimp would worry me a bit because of the rust near the edge but good blades to practice with!

The rust came right off when I cleaned them with scrubbing bubbles. It seemed to be on the blade, but the blade wasn't rusty, like if you leave a blade in a DE too long.

150 might be a bit low and might leave big scratches. However, it will take care of the rust quickly. Please post your progress.
