Starting to shave at night

This is proof positive you're more gentlemanly...I didn't catch the allusion. Most allusions need to club me into submission to get my attention.

Maybe we should start a Vampire shave club or cult of the vampires, etc? Oakeshott, you came up with it, so if you start it I will join, if allowed.

I'll give this some thought...something along the lines of Brotherhood of the Vampire Shavers?? What would be a good title for the thread?

Night shaving for me been a very relaxing me time experience since it is a mad rush most mornings with a teenage girl in the house.

Quick question for all you night-shavers out there. What is the best way to prep your face? I usually shower right before I shave, so everything is prepped. Do you just use a warm washcloth or something?

I did that for a week, but found it to be a PIA. Then I spent a few months just washing my face a couple times and leaving the water on it. Now what I do is to wash my face once, then lather up with what I call a pre-shave lather. Face lathering, I get the lather wetter than usual and let it sit on my face for 2 to 5 minutes, then rinse it off and lather up again with something different and start shaving.

I started this when I was at the point where I was getting new soaps and creams in faster than I could use them. This allowed to me try them out quicker by doing test lathers on my face. I ended up really liking the effect so I've continued. Usually I use my less than great soaps and creams, and ones that have a milder scent. It also helps me use up my software quicker so I can justify buying more sooner.

While I was working I was a night shaver. Like most of you are saying, it allowed me to take my time and relax before bed. In the mornings I did not have to rush.

Sometimes I shave at night , sometimes , in the morning. Shaving at night is nice because you don't have to rush and a hot shower and shave is a nice way to relax before bed..

I tend to shave around 7:00pm-every Friday, Saturday, Sunday. My only morning shaves are on Saturday and Sunday, for the most part. I go for more passes during the weekend due to the GF. I shave late afternoons on weekdays.....largely because of wanting to take my time with the process. Though still a newbie, I tend to shave everyday since joining this group. I always use cold water while shaving anytime and rely on combining both face and bowl lathering. Not saying that my approach is recommended, it just works with my schedule.

Another night shaver here. There's something serene about taking your time and shaving at night going to bed all smooth and smelling good. Too bad I'm older than dirt so the wife never notices!

If I don't have to work the next day, I love a nice leisurely night shave. Really puts me to sleep nicely.

On mornings I do have to be at work however, I find that shaving really wakes me up and puts me in a good mood being so clean and smelling so gosh darn pretty.

The logo is great. I will shave at night or in the morning, although it is an indulgence to take 20 to 30 minutes for yourself at night to settle down and have some time to devote to a shave.

I use nothing for prep. Cold water or warm water, I just splash and lather. Shower and ASB afterwards.

I shave at night occasionally, I find it very relaxing esp right before I go to bed. If I have something to do early in the morning I also shave the night before. If I still were active duty I would only shave at night... And in the field I'd use canned goo or a brushless cream.

I like Vampire Shavers Inc., LLC very much. That one goes in the hat. I promised mom never to join a cult and when it comes to clubs, I am with Groucho; wouldn't join one that would have me as a member.

League of Extraordinary Vampire Shavers is great. Another one in the hat. I think we should rule out Gentleman as we don't want to discourage the Vamp Lady shavers from the League or LLC.

I love shaving at night. And on mornings I have to get up early for work, travel, church, etc., and I know I'll struggle to be on time, I have no worries. Of course, I also get five o'clock shadow around noon...

I enjoy night shaving because I can take my time and enjoy it. If I shaved in the morning I would be thinking about the upcoming work day.
