Speick and Musgo

I've tried both these creams. Love the scent of both. The Musgo was somewhat disappointing- I feel like the lather provided a lot of cushion and a comfortable shave, but didn't get me anywhere near BBS. I'll give it another try and see if maybe I had an off day, but I doubt it.

Speick gave me about as good of a shave as I've had with any product, period. I will probably get the ASB or ASL to go with it.

Anybody else have similar experiences?

The best DE shave I ever had was with Musgo. You may want to play around with the water proportion a bit to optimize the glide. The stuff is pretty much the best performing cream I've tried. I haven't tried Speick cream yet, but love the soap!

Neither of these work well for me. I sold my Musgo after a few shaves, distinctly rubbery feel to it that I've never got from any other lather, and I mixed it about as wet as it could go, to give it a fair crack.

Speick a fair bit better, but I much prefer the soap stick, milled. The AS and balm is awesome stuff though, wouldn't be without it.

For me, speik is one of those creams that the lather doesn't look or feel that impressive like some others do, but the results are always one of my closest, smoothest shaves.

The musgo does not do quite so good for me with the results, but it could just be my (poor) lathering technique with it.

Spieck cream is my favorite. Hands down. I'm in the process of acquiring some of the top-end creams so we'll see about the challengers (CF, DC), but Speick is awesome. It's the Tabac of creams.

its the lanolin. It effects different people differently. I know what you mean by that rubbery feel, like it smooths out the surface, but grips the blade at the same time... I still have it in the back of my drawer, and will probably bring it out again to try.

Now Speick however I absolutly love and will be getting much more of, and I will also be restocking my proraso cream when it runs out.
