Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Brush: Oumo Compass 29mm ST-1
Bowl: Captain's Choice Heavyweight copper
Aftershave: Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum

The 921 is producing excellent shaves. Close with no irritation. Although today has had its challenges, this shave was a high point.

Old-school Williams Mug shave today in which I was able to pull a top-quality lather (in the bowl not the mug)from this puck. All it needs is a short bloom, brush loaded fairly heavily, water added slowly so it doesn't go all foamy before you hit the sweet spot. This particular soap (which is in my avatar) is vintage, and thus virtually scentless, although you can still get a slight whiff of something which leads the imagination to some far off place of former greatness.

Damn fine shave, close and comfortable. Really getting the hang of the Derby Extra in the Fatip, it behaves a little different than other blades, I find the steepest angle that cuts and the least pressure I can manage gets the best result, other blades I can go shallower and more pressure. Was nice to use Nelum again, I'm not really a sandalwood fellow, but I enjoy this. Natural sandalwood scent with a little rose too, good skincare properties and a decent whack of menthol to boot.

Does the Weck qualify as rare or obscure? First time using it today. Much easier to use than the cheapo AC types I bought on AEx.
