What's new

Somebody recommend me a boar brush....

One other item...I used to do boars with soaps and badgers with creams. However, I recently started using the 1305 with creams with great results after receiving some good advice from a fellow shaver. Took getting the boar broken in to work with the cream. I expect to get good cream results with the other brushes once broken in. I recently picked up a neat little Steve Woodhead scuttle that should match the 1470 quite nicely.

Please consider the Semogues as I believe you will not be disappointed.

Agreed. A boar brush that's had the time to be broken in well can lather creams just fine. Even my large, ultra dense LE has no problem whatsoever with La Toja, Proraso, Musgo Real, or Nancy Boy.

Try to find a Jaguar #236...It will be worth the effort...great lather with no hassle, not so soft, no so stiff...I'm really impressed (I have had Kent, Savile Row, Vulfix ans Semogue) that for $7 I got a nice performer. That could be the reason that it is sold out in Amazon for almost a month :(

Indeed, I had it for $4 (that was without the "free" cream)...

The following is a post I left tonight for someone looking for the best site to get a Semogue:

This is the site. Leon and Bruno are great to deal with. IMHO excellent quality for the price. Plus, it is cool to get something form Portugal!!! I recommend you start with the 1305 - a wonderful boar brush.

Please consider the Semogues as I believe you will not be disappointed.

NB Leon=Bruno, or rather Bruno=Leon :wink2:

Semogue 2000 to get lather in bowl

Semogue 1800 or 830 as allrounder

Semogue 1438 for facelathering

Been working with a Semogue 2000 for the last few (very few, like 5) days and I'm already a convert to Boars. I've several Badgers and just 2 Boars and I'm loving the superior results I'm getting with the Boars.

You might try the Omega 81052 - the loft is shorter than the 10049, which lends itself to face-lathering. I like it on par with my Rooney 3/1/F.

thanks for the recommendations, I'm personally leaning towards the 1305, on the account of already having an omega.
