Soaps You Love, But Can't Use

C&E Sienna. Scent is to die for, lather is very good (not as good as Tabac, but great lather)...but it makes my face burn after the second lathering. I keep it to sniff from time to time, I love the scent.

Tabac.
I mean, I *can* use it, but it has always irritated my face a little bit (I think due to the lavender).
I am looking at the ingredients list of Tabac right now. I do not see lavender. Where did this idea start? I have seen it it two threads now?

I'm surprised you are not getting good results with the L'Occitane. It is one of my to 3 or 4 soaps (along with Tabac, DR Harris Arlington and AoS unscented). Try playing around with your water to soap ratio -- you may just find the sweetspot yet. Another trick would be to get a tube of the L'Occitane SC, and use them together for an incredibly luxurious superlather.

Enjoy.

Yeah, but both by me. I could have sworn when I first got the Tabac, I posted having some trouble with it and irritation, and someone claimed it had lavender in it. Either that or I read it on an ingredients list somewhere. Either way it always left my face a little irritated, despite the stupendous lather.

I can get a hell of a lather out of it, but the shave just doesn't feel as smooth with L'Occitane as with other soaps. However, since I won't be getting rid of it, I'll keep at it and see what more water does as far as a slicker shave. Just because I can't use it daily now, doesn't mean that I don't want to use it. I've always been a glutton for punishment.
